MyGolfSpy – Broadcasting Live From The Secret Bunker

Came in to work today to some super top-secret intel about a possible driver you might see come to market in the near future by a company to be named later (take a guess).  What you see here is their early stages in the design process.  This company started with target market research and then had sketches made for each market.  Which then got narrowed down to 2 selections.

Thought you guys would like to see this part of the process and all the concepts that are drawn up…I always think it is interesting to see which ones they decided to go with.

      I would think the model in the top row named s-95 which looks exactly like that cobra model S whatever they call it would give it away…. Also why can I not resize or scroll left or right on this website with my iPhone… Just wondering, my golf spy seems to be only web page on the market where this phenomenon occurs.

      Looks like Nike to me, although the 53 looks like Mizuno . Either way, who cares ?

      Desigers: remember, form fallows function.

      I am curious to know what the CG and sound numbers are with concept 2.
      Nike has a pattent not allowed by USGA, I guess donuts are not allowed in the game

      They look like Macgregor golf clubs or maybe Wilsons. I know these are just concepts but it just feels a little walmart, would need to see protos before tossing them in the bag!!

      I’m thinking Cobra. Alot of those designs bear close resemblance to older cobra designs. But a hole in the driver? Don’t think the older market will be very interested in that

      Am I the official blog weirdo, but does anyone else NOT GIVE A DAMN what a driver looks like from the ground view? I understand the shape will impact the appearance of the driver from the golfer’s view, but a clever designer can “hide” unusual shapes with crowns, markings and colors.

      You’re not alone, Phana. I’m one of those “weirdos” as well. I guess if I tried hitting the ball with the grip I might care, but… that’d be a little difficult.

      Tell Puma that the experienced player would prefer the driver on the second row, third driver in from the left. I don’t believe that better players would appreciate that hole in the back of the head.

      For the more amateur player, tell them that the second row, first driver on the left is a better choice!

      I like the 3rd column number 2 down to the right by 5 then over 1 more….geez-us how about a number or an ‘a-z’ designation or something to make the choice. I thought I was just going to have to make some choices not play Tetris!!

      Tell Nike I like the 3rd down, second from the left the best. 2nd down and 4th from the left is interesting too. As is 6th down and 5th from the left.
