Why This Limited Edition COBRA Driver Rocks My World

Good news, friends! March marks the official end of launch season. We’re finally free of new product launches and can now get down to the serious business of actually, you know, playing golf.

Here’s even better news. March also marks the official start of Limited Edition Season.  I don’t know about you but I do love a good limited-edition anything and I’m especially a big fan of COBRA’s limited-editions.

The new COBRA x Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT driver celebrates this week’s Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational. Like any good limited edition, it follows a very simple and subtle script.  If you’re an ardent fan of The King (c’mon people, who isn’t?), COBRA has knocked it out of the park.

Let’s dig in, shall we?

COBRA x Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT

Let’s get the cynical stuff out of the way. These new limited-edition drivers are exactly the same as the DS-ADAPT LS, X and MAX-K drivers COBRA launched in January. The one difference is entirely superficial.

The thing is that there’s plenty of super in that superficial.

COBRA x Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT driver.

It starts at address. The Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT drivers feature a contrasting rim and crown, which isn’t an original look but it is a sweet one.  The crown itself is loaded with Arnie’s signature umbrella logo as is the sole.

COBRA added a bunch of subtle touches. Those umbrella logos on the sole are sprinkled with Florida pink and blue. You’ll also find umbrella logos on the grip with a sweet-looking blue and pink callout at the grip’s bottom. You could call the headcover the “chef’s kiss,” but that’s selling it short. It’s more of a French chef’s kiss.

Specs, price and availability

The COBRA x Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT drivers are available in three models. The DS-ADAPT X is what we might call the “standard” model. At 460cc, it fits the widest range of golfers. The DS-ADAPT LS is the 445cc low-spin model while the DS-ADAPT MAX-K is COBRA’s 10K MOI model.

All three drivers feature COBRA’s new FUTUREFIT33 Adjustable Hosel System which has more loft and lie positions than the kama sutra.

The new COBRA x Arnold Palmer Limited Edition DS-ADAPT drivers are on sale now online and at select retailers. They sell for $649.

These custom Cobra drivers the last few years are dope, or whatever cool word we say these days. Every time they come out with one I decide I’m going to buy it next year when it’s cheaper. Then they double down and come out with a better one and I change my mind and wait next year for that one and the cycle continues so I don’t buy one.

      I’m in.
I hit this driver against the rest and it worked for me the best. I would buy it if I had the money. But I don’t ever buy anything new at full prices so I’ll have to wait 5 years till it sells for $100. 😂
The 33 thing really works for me. The face angle is just right for the way I like it. And I felt like that head is way more forgiving than the Qi35 in the almost-same configuration when I compared them side to side. So easy to hit than the Qi35, though I finally found a setting on the 35 that works almost as well. But the Cobra feels so much better.
