FASTEST SET UP GOLF NET - Spornia SPG-7
If you want to get to practice quickly, the Spornia SPG-7 is the fastest net to set up. With only a few simple steps, you will be practicing in no time. The SPG-7 has side nets to catch those stray shots. The net is also the quietest in the test so your partner wont be irritated the whole time you're practicing.
It's the Wedge, Not the Driver
While many assume that it's the higher speed of the driver that puts the most strain on a hitting net, it's actually the greater spin produced by higher lofted clubs that will slowly chew through the netting. If you plan to hit a significant number of wedge shots, consider a net that includes a nylon or fabric target to protect the netting. For added insurance, practice with a new scuff-free ball.

Ease of Use
If you only have an hour to squeeze in a practice session, you don’t want a net that requires 20 minutes to set up and another 20 to take down. If you’re looking to maximize every moment of practice time, you may want to sacrifice features for efficiency.

Size

EXPERT TIP - Reducing the Risk of Damage
If you are a beginning golfer or your hitting space is in close proximity to things that can be easily damaged, we suggest practicing with foam balls to minimize the risk from stray shots. Once your more comfortable in the environment, step up to real golf balls.
More Tips
- Unless you’re practicing outdoors with plenty of grass to destroy, consider purchasing a hitting mat as well. It won’t be long before you’ve ripped up the grass in your hitting area.
- If your practice area is outdoors and the ground is too firm for stakes, use weighted objects that hold the structure in place.
- Practice like you play. When hitting into the net, you want to carry out your same pre-shot routine to ensure better muscle and mind memory.

Depending on what ball return net you choose, along with weather conditions, can determine how fast the ball comes back at you. So don't swing too close otherwise you might get a ball to the body.

Q: How far should I set up away from the mat?
A: A good rule of thumb is that the larger the net, the farther back you can hit from. For a smaller net, your hitting area will need to be closer. The net itself is also a consideration. The tighter the net, the faster the ball will come back at you. The ideal amount of rebound will return the ball to your feet at a safe speed.
Q: Should I get a net with sides attached?
A: All golfers hit bad shots so consider add-on options to contain those wayward shots. We strongly recommend choosing a net that offers side nets that extend closer to the hitting area. They can reduce damage and danger should the dreaded “S” word makes an appearance.
Q: Can I use my golf net for other sports??

9 months agoHit the ball hard, and it will roll back to you. A small curb, (carpet, 1×2, etc. will stop it). Regardless, it ain’t gonna mow ya down., just like it is. Strike your final finish pose, and hold it for as long as you want.
Pay no attention to the ball return until you’re ready to hit your next ball.

2 years agoI have had the Spornia for about 6 months now. Set up in my garage. I love it. The ball roll right to the front.. The only thing that I would change (besides my mishits) is to have the front edge up just enough so that balls will not roll out. once you have some balls in there it is fine.

2 years agoI got a Carl’s Place impact screen online with the cage (8.5 ft tall, 12 feet wide) for an indoor simulator. I got the middle tier (“Preferred Screen”). You have to buy metal electrical pipe to assemble so it takes a bit of effort to set up but you don’t need any exotic tools or put holes in your wall.
It ends up costing a little less than $1,000 so pricey. On the flip side, it lasts forever. I have hit thousands of balls into this and it looks brand new. The most important part is it’s larger so you can be 15 feet away which I think adds to the experience. There isn’t as much concern about missing the net. IMO, all the nets you reviewed might be too small for good practice.

2 years agoJustnets in tampa, fla. heavy duty and yet I penetrated my 10×10.
They prorated the warranty for a new 10×12. The rest of these are trash an will not hold up.

2 years agoMy first net was the Amazon net. I figured that I could burn through a couple of them for the price of any of the others. Sadly, it didn’t take that long to actually punch a hole through it. It’s big enough that you can just move to a different part of the net if that happens. Of course, then you’ll eventually punch a hole through that part. Even though I’m not a great ball striker, it’s surprising how often the ball hit’s the same spot in the net especially when that spot is a hole. I have it set up in my garage. There’s just barely enough room for me to swing my driver, so I don’t. The longest club I use into the net is a hybrid. So maybe the spin off of irons damages the net? Amazon does not sell replacement nets. I could have purchased another complete set but I have enough golf ball sized divots in my garage wall. So, I recently purchase the SPG_7. It’s worth the difference in price. Not only is it less likely that I’ll punch a hole through it, but the ball nicely rolls back out of it. With the Amazon net, the ball practically ricocheted back and I had fabricate a backstop behind me to stop the ball. The only unflattering comment I have about my SPG-7 is that is leans a little to the right. It’s not horrible and doesn’t affect the usefulness of the net. It’s just aesthetically annoying.

2 years agoOne thing about the Spornia (and similar designs) is that they’re actually at their tallest in the middle of the net, where you’d like to think you’re going to hit most of your shots. I have a radar PLM that needs to read 10ft of ball flight. The extra 6-12″ in the middle of the Spornia (with the roof extension) has kept lots of wedge shots out of my neighbor’s back yard.
I tried two of the Rukket options before landing on the Spornia. They were great, but they both sagged in the middle. The listed height is really only that at the edges. The center sags an extra 4-6″ and gets worse over time as the net loosens up. If you have a Skytrak or aren’t using a PLM, then this doesn’t really matter because you can set your mat up closer to the net.

2 years agoI’ve checked out the Spornia, I just wish it was a little wider. I heard the Inesis is not very durable after a few uses. Net Return is super nice, but pricey.

2 years agoIn my opinion the Net Return is a terrible TERRIBLE design. If you are a golfer who needs to (or wants to) learn to hold your finish. The Net Return actually trains you NOT TO HOLD YOUR FINISH!
