Callaway Elyte Driver

We tested 37 drivers for 2025 and three of them are Callaways. The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond took first place overall thanks to its strong performance across the board. However, the Elyte X and the Elyte were not far behind. We will explain everything you need to know about the best Callaway drivers.

Best Callaway driver of 2025: Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond

It takes a lot to win the best driver of the year. The driver test consists of more than 18,000 shots and the Elyte Triple Diamond still managed to come out on top. It was the most well-rounded driver of all the Callaway models we tested in 2025 with its main strengths being distance and accuracy.

The Elyte Triple Diamond is considered a low-spin model but it was playable for a variety of testers and ranked in the top three for distance and accuracy. In the forgiveness category, the Triple Diamond was still above average.

There were very few downsides to the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond from a performance standpoint. However, some golfers did not like the glossy profile and topline transition into the face.

Buy this if:

You prioritize balanced performance and want the best driver of 2025.

You value playability in addition to distance. The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond is as accurate as it is long.

Don’t buy this if:

You are picky about the top-down look/glossy profile.

Callaway Elyte X

The Callaway Elyte X finished just outside the top five golf drivers in 2025. It had high ball speed, with distance being its strongest category. The Elyte X had slightly higher spin than the Triple Diamond and the forgiveness is solid, comparable to the Triple Diamond.

If you need more spin, don’t want to give up on distance and think a higher launch profile is better for your game, the Elyte X is a smart choice. Its accuracy kept it out of the top five.

Buy this if:

You want a mix of distance and forgiveness in your driver.

You need a slightly higher-launching driver than the Triple Diamond but you want comparable performance.

Don’t buy this if:

You struggle with accuracy and hitting your target from the tee.

Callaway Elyte

The Callaway Elyte finished 10th in the test, the Callaway driver with the lowest overall finish. There were 37 drivers tested and all three of the Callaways made it into the top 10. If you’re looking for a new club off the tee in 2025, it’s probably worth testing at least one of these.

The Elyte is not as long as the other Triple Diamond or Elyte X but the difference in distance is about three or four yards. Where the Callaway Elyte shines is in forgiveness. We measure forgiveness by the driver’s ability to produce consistent results for carry distance, dispersion, etc. The Elyte is very consistent.

Buy this if:

You prioritize forgiveness over maximum distance.

You want a reliable and consistent driver that finished in the top 10 for 2025.

Don’t buy this if:

You’re looking for the longest driver. The Callaway Elyte is not short, just not the longest.

You need help with accuracy off the tee.

What about older Callaway models?

The results of the best golf driver testing of 2025 are not the only options you have if you want a Callaway driver. In fact, the $399 Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond could be one of the best deals in golf right now.

It earned a second-place finish in 2024 and with the recent price drops, it is a driver choice worth considering.

Here are some of the other older Callaway driver models and for whom they may be a good fit:

Callaway driver shaft options

The shaft offerings for the Callaway Elyte and Callaway Elyte X are the same. There is some overlap in the options for the Callaway Triple Diamond but you’ll notice some lower-launch options with more weight and less flex in the shaft.

The three main options are the:

  • Mitsubishi Vanquish: A super-premium lightweight shaft inspired by high-performance fly fishing rods, featuring a stable handle and active tip for increased clubhead acceleration.
  • Project X Denali Charcoal: A graphite wood shaft offering mid-launch and spin characteristics, designed with a stable butt-section and straight taper mid-section for a smooth energy transfer.
  • Mitsubishi Tensei 1K: A shaft designed for low launch and low spin, providing enhanced stability and control for players seeking a penetrating ball flight.

How to choose a Callaway driver?

Callaway makes drivers for any handicap golfer. However, the needs of beginners are different than those who are advanced players. The best way to know which Callaway driver is best for your game is to go for a fitting.

Generally speaking, those with faster swing speed need a lower spin driver with slightly lower lofts. The slower swing speed players may need help getting a higher launch angle and therefore will look for more loft and higher spin to get the consistency they need.

A professional fitter will help ensure you are happy with your purchase and you get a club you can hit on the sweet spot.

Which Callaway driver is best for your golf game?

The best way to determine which Callaway driver is best for your game is to go for a fitting. However, if you want a general idea as to which models you should try, here are some helpful tips:

  • If you want the best overall performance (distance + accuracy + forgiveness),
consider the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond.
  • If you struggle with a slice and want built-in draw bias, try the Callaway Elyte X.
  • If you prefer a lightweight driver with high launch, the Callaway Elyte is a good choice.
  • If you prefer a more neutral ball flight without a strong draw or fade bias,
consider the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond or Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond.
  • If you prioritize maximum forgiveness and consistent shot outcomes, test the Callaway Elyte.
  • If you prefer a compact shape and low-spin profile for maximum distance consider the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond.
  • If you’re on a budget: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond and Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max D are top performers from 2024 that have dropped in price.

Personally as a senior golfer mid-handicapper, I’ve not noticed much difference after Mavrik Max. I like the Paradym clubs but they’re not improved as far as dispersion and forgiveness compared to the Maverick. I’ve played Calloway Drivers for over 10 years with the exception of one excellent Cleveland driver and don’t plan to change but for the life of me, I can’t understand why someone can’t explain to the marketing staff at Calloway……..ELITE is not spelled with a “y” and PARADIGM is not spelled with a ‘y’. I prefer buying from a company that can spell……….it’s not a GAWLF SHOPPE. Stop trying to sound so cute !

I have always used my irons and drivers for years before purchasing new and when I did buy new it was always the latest available. At this point though drivers have reached a price line I refuse to cross. $600 for a driver is insane. Looks like the bargin bin for me from now on, for drivers at least.
