while the TaylorMade 50% trade in bonus was a good deal but constrained you to buying new TM product, Worldwide Golf was offering a 50% trade in bonus with ANY purchase over $100, and..they offer this several times per year. a better deal IMO !!

I shop for clubs almost exclusively at Callaway Preowned and have saved a bunch. They run special discounts frequently and their “like new” condition clubs are generally in perfect shape. Excellent site and free shipping.

“The Honma TR20 P Irons fall in the player’s distance category. The 7-iron has 37 degrees of loft but the graphite shaft should add some additional spin so holding a green should not be an issue.”

Reading comprehension is not good at MGS. They are 37 inches long with a 31 degree loft. Great price tho…..

I’ll be curious to see how the 2023 Maxfli’s do in the bi-annual golf ball testing this year. The previous model did very well, and at this discounted price it’s a steal for performance.

While I enjoy reading about all of the new golf equipment I find that being on Social Security and a small pension I can not afford the price of new equipment. So… for many of us who are in a similar situation please enlighten us how 70 and 80 year old golfers can continue to use our older and certainly more affordable equipment.

If your clubs continue to work decently enough, you don’t need to replace them unless they’re damaged or become too worn. So there’s nothing new to buy there. Even if you want to buy clubs, you can buy used (there are many, many online storefronts that sell used clubs).

      Same for golf balls.

Gloves and shoes may be the only items you’ll need to replace on a regular basis. But instead of buying gloves at the pro shop for $25, you can go on eBay and get new gloves for $10 a pop. Shoes also go on sale all the time. You can get prior year styles at < $50 a pair.

      Hope that helps

For gloves, go check out “MG golf”. They have fantastic leather gloves for under $8.

Here’s how I avoid being taken to the cleaners by the big name manufacturers: go to the 2nd Swing website or store if there is one near you. Trade in older equipment, update to recent generation reasonably priced new or newer equipment. Also, PXG 0211 series are extremely reasonably priced and extremely good clubs.

If you live anywhere near a PGA Tour Superstore, this time of year I make a weekly trip to check out their discount bin of clubs that had been used as demos. They’re seriously marked down but not at all worn out. I bought a vokey sm8 last year and an apex hybrid this year, both for about 60% retail price.

Good for you! It’s ironic, my best deal was becoming a member at my local public course (many years ago). I love the fact I can play anytime & many holes as I want & never pull a dollar out of my pocket all year. Plus, w/ all the Pro V1’s I find, I haven’t bought one in 10 years.

I joined our municipal course for $1250 on beautiful Cape Cod but when I turned 80 y/o, the price drops to $750 for a championship course (Brian Silva design – 7200 yds), an older Donald Ross course, and a “links style” 9-hole course. Play anytime and as much as you want. with a discount for mounted GPS carts. I play 3x/wk and have a 12.2 hdcp (81 y/o). Best
