If you’ve switched to player’s distance irons, you’re likely looking for clubs that offer great feel and workability without sacrificing those critical five to seven yards on approach shots. The real advantage, however, lies in the accuracy these irons provide. If you’re not saving strokes with them, what’s the point? The three most accurate player’s distance irons of 2024 are the Srixon ZX5 Mk II, COBRA KING Forged Tec X and Titleist T-200. Here’s a look at what each of these top-performing clubs offers.
Srixon ZX5 Mk II
Who Is It For?
✅ Golfers who want to save strokes. The Srixon ZX5 Mk II are the best player’s distance irons for accuracy in 2024.
✅ Players who value performance across the board. The Srixon ZX5 Mk II is the most accurate iron and finished near the top for distance and forgiveness.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ Anyone who won’t try something new: Srixon is an iron many golfers haven’t tried. If you are fixated on Mizuno or Titleist and afraid to branch out, this club isn’t for you.
❌ Golfers who don’t have access to try these irons at a fitting: Not every fitting center offers Srixon irons. We always recommend going through a fitting.
Why Buy
The Srixon ZX5 Mk II are the most accurate player’s distance irons of 2024. In addition to taking top honors for accuracy, the Srixon are also the best overall player’s distance irons for 2024.
We’ve been saying for a while that Srixon irons are underrated and that more amateur players should be using them. If you’ve been on the fence about it, this is your signal to go for it. The Srixon ZX5 Mk II irons also finished fourth for forgiveness and sixth for distance.
In other words, the ZX5 Mk II has no negatives. When asked about the Srixon ZX5 Mk II irons, one tester said, “Best of the Best.”
Based on these testing results, we can’t argue.

COBRA KING Forged Tec X
Who Is It For?
✅ Anyone who wants a true player’s distance iron: COBRA KING Forged Tec X is the best iron for distance in our player’s distance iron test.
✅ Players looking for trustworthy accuracy: The KING Forged Tec X offers a positive Strokes Gained performance in our testing.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ Anyone seeking forgiveness. Forgiveness is how consistent an iron is. The COBRA KING Forged Tec X struggles in producing consistent outcomes.
❌ Golfers who don’t want to get fitted: With how long the COBRA KING Forged Tec X is, make sure you get fitted to avoid large gaps in yardage.
Why Buy
The COBRA KING Forged Tec X earned second overall and second for accuracy in the 2024 player’s distance iron testing. The Forged Tec X shines when it comes to distance, where it took first place.
When we look at performance from the most accurate irons in golf, we often see these clubs have less distance capability. For an iron to finish first for distance and second for accuracy is rare and worth checking out.
The problem with the COBRA KING Forged Tec X is the forgiveness. It finished near the bottom for forgiveness or consistency so consider that if you struggle to repeat shot outcomes.

Titleist T-200
Who Is It For?
✅ Golfers who need accuracy from the tee. Impressive accuracy that continues through to the low irons for better tee shots.
✅ Players who need consistent shot outcomes. With an eighth-place finish for forgiveness, you’ll get a nice combination of consistency and accuracy.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ Pure distance seekers. It’s not the longest iron of the 2024 test.
❌ Anyone who is on a budget. It is one of the more expensive player’s distance iron sets and is hard to find on sale.
Why Buy
The Titleist T-200 irons took fifth place overall and third for accuracy. The T-200 had positive Strokes Gained performance which could be partly due to the consistent shot outcomes.
Combining an eighth-place finish for forgiveness with a third-place finish for accuracy is quite impressive. The major weakness of the T-200 is distance.
As with the other top player’s distance irons for forgiveness, get fitted. You’ll find that some of the weaknesses we saw with distance could be improved if you have the right shaft.

Srixon definitely has been making some really nice looking, and nice feeling, irons for a good while now. I hit ZX5 at demos for a few years and loved them. When I finally bit the bullet to buy new irons, my fitting came down to ZX5 & MP225 very close and I went with fitters recommendation that the numbers for MP225 were better for my fit in the key metrics. I’m certain I would have been very happy with ZX5 and with MKII and future generations, next fitting could easily end up Srixon.
