I have used many different brands of waterproof jackets in my 66 year long career of playing golf. I’ve played over 100 rounds of golf at Bandon Dunes in downpours hails and in snow. There is no such thing as 100% waterproof. The trick to keeping your gear waterproof is to spray them with a waterproofing spray before the beginning of the wet season. That being said, I have found that the best rain gear comes from REI under its own label and is usually available for less than $200. Paying $500 for a rain jacket is as ridiculous as paying $500 for putter.

So now that you guys are multi gazillionaires you think a budget rain pullover is 100+, some news from the cheap seats, 21$ on Amazon for a TGW waterproof short sleeve pullover. This will be my third season with this rain shirt, hasn’t leaked yet, and I play at least 4 times a week, rain or shine.
