Test results
The 2024 Vice Tour scored 90 and earned an A- grade. The score is built on a clean defect record and strong physical consistency with one category pulling the profile back from a higher finish.
Good Ball Rate came in at a perfect 100 percent. All 36 balls passed inspection with zero flagged defects across cores, layers and covers.
Compression consistency graded at B+ with a delta of 5.8 points and a spread running from 89.4 to 95.2. The tight window means ball-to-ball performance variation is minimal. Where the profile gives ground is compression symmetry which graded at C- with a median of 2.5 points against a field average of 1.9. Compression
Compression is a measure of how much force is required to deform a golf ball; the higher the number, the firmer the ball. Consistency matters because a ball that compresses differently from shot to shot produces different results from shot to shot. Ball Lab measures every ball individually and tracks both the average and the spread across the sample.
The 2024 Vice Tour averaged 91, in the firm range of our database and unusually firm for the ionomer set. Compression consistency graded at B+ with a delta of 5.8 points and a spread running from 89.4 to 95.2. The compression consistency was well below the database average of 9.7 and one of the tighter results in this test series. Ball to ball, what you pull out of the box is going to be a consistent product.
Ball Lab also measures compression symmetry which tracks how evenly compression is distributed across three points on each individual ball. Is each ball consistent within itself? A ball that isn’t uniform in shape can track offline on the putting green or produce inconsistent flight in the air. Ball Lab measures each ball across multiple axes to get a true picture of its shape.
The 2024 Vice Tour averaged 1.6841 inches, above the USGA minimum of 1.680, with a roundness deviation of 0.0004 inches. Every ball cleared the minimum and the sample showed no consistent pole-versus-seam pattern. It had a clean result across all three boxes.
