(4) TESTERS WANTED: Bettinardi Studio Stock 38 Armlock Putter

Could 2019 finally be the year when armlock putting gains significant traction on tour and with golfers in general? Matt Kuchar has rolled armlock style with his trusty Bettinardi seemingly forever, and now other big name pros, such as Bryson and Bubba, are also locking in their arms with hopes of later wrapping their arms around tournament trophies.

These professional golfers are switching to the armlock putting style as a way to move up the leaderboards on tour. Could a similar putter switch move you up the ranks at your home course?

Testers Wanted

Are you struggling on the greens with your traditional putter? Are you curious about the fabled milled precision of Bettinardi putters? Do you wake up in the middle of the night wondering if the armlock putting style is the answer to your frequent fescue foibles? Can you define the word foibles?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you should apply to be one of four MyGolfSpy forum member testers who will get to test and keep a Bettinardi Armlock Studio Stock 38.

This is not a giveaway. You are going to need to record and report the details about your experience with the Armlock SS38. Did the switch in style result in revelations of roll, or did it just become another putter in the pile? We want your honest feedback.

No knock on Bettinardi, they make great puters… Now it’s arm-lock, before it was the long-putter, held touching chest; stop, hold it, can’t use them anymore – whoa, wait a minute, yes you can but don’t let it touch the chest (they hold it so close that you don’t know if it’s touching or not)… Come-on, stop the nonsense, , let Tour Players play blades or small mallets, say up to 40 inches, which should’nt be at their chest – if they can’t putt with that, find someone who can… I think that the Golf Fathers are afraid to stand by such a decision & maybe loose $$$- remember everything has to be politically correct thesedays, so beware… If your an ametuer & want to compete in their sanctioned events, same rules apply… For the rest of the average Joes’ who just go out for enjoyment & maybe play for bragging rights, etc.- then let the group players decide what’s permissible… The rest who just go to enjoy a round, who cares what you are putting with – sounds fair to me… The only thing that these new fads accomplish, is generating revenue & try to convince some poor amateur player to drop a wad on it, as it may take him to Putter Paradice…News Flash > just heard that next year, an ankle-locked putter is in development & will be released, using your hip rotation for distance control; it’s equivalent to the old-school foot-mashie – first year, right foot models only, putting shoe extra…

You are right as putting is over 50% of scoring…any one with a 15 or above handicap could be a 9 if they could only putt….PGA tour and equipment sponsors would never stand Pros shooting par or only a few under, just would not sell….if you notice everything they do ALWAYS leaves the Pros shooting 5 or more under to win 95% of all tournaments….it is a business after all just as any pro sport.

Wish I had the time to putt into this (pun fully intended) to even consider applying, but alas I don’t, but there will be some happy testers. Good luck and thanks MGS and Bettinardi!!
