Four Testers Wanted – Motocaddy Electric Golf Cart

On a typical five-mile hike, would you rather:

A: Carry a 25-pound pack for all five miles?
B: Push that 25-pound pack for all five miles?
C: Just, you know, walk for all five miles?

Take golf out of the equation and nearly all reasonably non-maniacal types would pick “C.”

According to staff writer John Barba, “using the remote-control Motocaddy M7 is like having R2D2 as your caddie.”

With that said, we’d to get some feedback from MyGolfSpy readers.

I walk around 80 rounds a year, I’m retired and live in PA, play 2-3 times a week. My home course got some decent hills to deal with. This would be interesting to take part of and write a review.

I had a Onewheel electric skateboard. However, I sold it after crashing really hard on the street. A friend of mine spent some time in a trauma unit after an even worse crash with no helmet :(

Anyway, they were really fun on the course. I bet Onewheel or Future Motion could adapt what they have and come up with a neat golfing apparatus. The onewheel was fun on the course.

I prefer walking the course but the up and down back 9 at my home course can be a bit of a walking challenge at times. I would like to test the climbing ability of the Motocaddy. I expect that this aid would help with score improvement by reducing the fatigue factor.

Love my Clic Gear but using it isn’t a luxury experience. I assume using the Moto will make the joy of hitting a bomb so much better. That long walk after a great hit, with a Moto by you side, has to be an amazing feeling. Life would be epic and next level. Pure joyful experience in the Northern California rolling hills. I’d like to test it because I think everyone should know how great their day can be with amazing equipment.

I’ve been playing golf for over 50 years. Always walk, love the zen of it. The only time I ride is when I play with a fiend who is incapable of walking for the entire round. Been thinking about purchasing an electric cart, this would be a great opportunity to see what it would be like to not actually push or pull a cart with a full set of clubs and a bag. I’d greatly appreciate your consideration. Thanks.

We are all battery powered pull cart snobs. We modify our carts, changed to lithium ion batteries, and talk about the carts as much as the golf. How far does it go? Does it follow you and roll straight? How did it take the hill? I would love to put this cart through its paces. If its good enough, I would be glad to put it in play.

I have only been playing golf for a short time, my friends all have carts. Every time we go golfing they tell me to just buy a cart already, but I tell them that I am waiting to find a good cart. We golf every weekend and I carry my clubs, some times we even play 27 holes. Walking the course is great exercise for me, so testing this cart out would be such a great experience for me

I’m 23 years old and in grad school at Kentucky. I try to golf as often as possible, I have a membership at a course where I don’t have to pay every time I play. The carts at the course cost $20 to rent each time, so being a broke student I walk every time. I currently have a cheap eBay 3 wheel cart that I use. I’m a higher handicap so I would certainly be testing how well this cart moves through the rough and other unideal surfaces. I would love to have the opportunity to test this product, thank you for your consideration.

I’m 52 and have had both knees replaced. I Play 2 times a week and before my surgeries I wouldn’t walk to save me life hahah. But since then I bought a nice clicgear push cart and my knees definitely feel it . But I find that walking 7 plus miles a round makes me think alot more about what I’m doing out there . . I would definitely be interested in using and giving you feed back on your product. Have a great day and hit them straight if possible hahah.

I am 65 and both my knees are pretty shot but i still want to walk the course. I have always walked using a push or pull cart just never could afford one of these. I golf 4or5 times a week and it would help greatly and i would give you an honest opinion.

I have a 10+ year old hand me down push cart from my dad with a broken strap. Honestly Don’t even know the brand, don’t recall any branding on it.

Normally, I would respond to an offer but at 73, I’m still carrying my bag and will continue to do it until it’s no longer possible. I tried a Sun Mountain 3-wheeler and found I was thinking more about the cart (positioning, the brake on even little inclines, where to put it around tees and greens) than I was about my shots (distance, wind, target). It was a 9-hole disaster for me, and after putting the cart in my car, I played the back in relative serenity… In other words, thanks for the opportunity but no thanks!

Awesome, I would love to be considered, I am 63 and play weekly, always walk. Living in upstate NY are golf season is just starting, our local course just opened and I will be there on Monday. A couple of the courses I play have some hills, it would be nice to see how it handles the different terrains.

I would love to test this cart. I currently have a pull cart that is about 40 years old. It has been repainted and repaired. When I take it to the course, I get all kinds of comments about both of us being antiques. so I usually just carry my bag.

I’m a 65-year-old golfer, who enjoys walking instead of riding a cart on my hilly home course. Have tried other brands of motorized carts but have only had success with Motocaddy. My original Motocaddy is at least 15 years old and still works. I would like to be considered a tester for a remote Motocaddy.

I’m 22 back I suffer from back pain and knee pain from years of playing baseball. I’ve been trying to walk when I play so I can exercise and regain strength in my knees. Testing the motocaddie could be life changing and very helpful

I am 47 years old and I play 3, 18 hole rounds a week and when possible I try to get in another round of nine-holes. Both courses are literally 10 minutes from my house so I get to play a lot and I do walk all the courses all the time I play. The nine-hole course I usually walk with my stand bag but the 18 I use my caddy tech explorer V8. I would love to test the motocaddy. Thank you.

Took up golfing 20 years ago on a whim and have been an addict ever since. Always hanging around golf shops, reading books, watching the golf channel. Constantly on the lookout for new gadgets. This past 3 months have been monitoring and reading and watching reviews on these carts so great timing for me. Would love to throughly review this if given an opportunity.

I’ve been using a Clicgear 3.5 push cart the past 5 years., and prior to that 3 different push carts for the previous 7 years.. I’ve heard positive comments from other golfers using an electric cart., and would love to try this one.. I play 60+ rounds of golf per year,. I’m 61, and carry a 6.8 handicap..

I play with a Clicgear 3.5+ and last year was on course 3 to 4 times a week and hope to better that this year. In September there’s a Stick and Hack Club members meeting at French Lick that includes golf and it would be a good opportunity to extend the experience of the MGS electric golf cart test and demonstration to this group of avid obsessed golfers. I’m a skeptic for the electric carts so no glossy responses will be in my write up unless it truly earns the positive words.

I have always been a big fan of walking the golf courses I play. I feel I get into the round both physically and mentally. I have recently considered purchasing one of these electric caddies. I would absolutely like to test one of these electric carts. I currently walk for 95% of my rounds using a CaddyTek push cart with a Sun Mountain carry bag. This cart would be a big help on some of the hills on the courses I play.

I love to walk courses, but the last 4 years was only able to walk 12 holes before my knees were in to much pain. After 2 knee replacement and 1 year of rehabilitation, I’m able to walk again. I play 3 times a week and average 2 tournaments during the golf season . I would love to be a tester of the cart.

Would love to test this equipment! Had hip surgery in 2014, and suffered a heart attack in 2017 (while walking a round of golf), but still like to walk when I can. Currently 54 years of age, and trying to keep it going on some hilly courses around southeastern Ohio. Thanks for the offer!

I have been using eWheels since their kickstarter, maybe 3 years ago. It’s been a fun “ride”, or walk as it is. I have been keeping my eyes out for the next best thing, as every cart has it’s benefits and idiosyncrasies. I’d been willing to check out something new.. I play some hilly courses so control on lots of uneven surfaces is always a challenge.

I am 66 years old. I played competitive golf in high school and had been A single digit handicap up until 5 years ago when I had the 1st of 3 strokes during the last 5 years. I still love to walk and use a push cart but get tired towards the end of my rounds. I would love to be able to continue to walk and work on my rehab and game with the assistance of an electric cart. I use a newer style bag boy pull cart and an older push style bag boy. I am 68 years old. I walk when I play golf at least three times a week. I know that longevity is greatly influenced on how active you are and I know that walking is the best is the best thing to do. I grew up in a town that made electric transformers that were filled with PCB oil’s. These are known to cause cancer. Most of my members at the course worked there had their hands in it but played 3 to 4 rounds of golf a week and they all lived through their 80s and 90s. I don’t believe this would’ve been possible if they hadn’t walked. I own a back caddy that someone recommended to me. And it is cheaply made and a total piece of junk. If I do get to try out a moto caddy I am taking my 3 pound hammer to my bat caddie But all that aside walking is the best you can do for your body and mind, and having a moto caddy will keep you walking when it’s to hard to carry your bag when you get older. I would be happy to test the cart. I walk. 3 to 4 rounds a week and have used a competitor cart for several years. Could certainly give it a test to compare. I would however recommend that the disabled veteran be given the chance as he has earned it. Have a great day!

I walk every morning at sunrise including the cold months and carry a sun mountain bag. Just purchased that in December because the strap rivot in my ogio back pulled out. It just happened to be at the farthest point away from the club house in the course. I’m fortunate to be able to play 9-14 holes every morning. My golfing would give this a fair review.

Bill Nalayama, 74 yrs old , Cibolo,TX I’ve walked all my rounds since 2008. I typically play a minimum of 4 rounds a week. This is down from 7 rounds a week as I use to play 27 or 36 hole some days. but the golf course I live on closed. So now I play the Alamo Trail Courses, and courses in the area. Some are very challenging to walk as where I live borders on what is called the Hill Country.. I currently use a CaddyTek EZ 3 wheel before the pandemic I bought an extra one for parts now they’ve more than doubled in price.. Motocaddy has received my great recommendations. I’d love to test one.

I am a disabled military veteran and my doctor prescribed golf as a low impact physical activity to hhelp restore mobility.. I currently ride because I am unable to push or pull objects while playing. The acquisition of this cart would allow me to participate in golf and get the full therapeutic benefits from it.

I retired recently and I finally have the time to play more golf. I bought a membership at a local course, hired a pro to take some lessons and plan on playing about 5 times a week, maybe more. I always walk when I can depending on the course. Some are unwalkable like the ones I played in Hawaii recently. But most of the courses around here are fairly flat and have shorter distances between holes. So I will be able to give this cart a good workout. I’ve always wanted to use one of these but wondered about transporting them. I think it would be fun to try one out though and give you my thoughts on it.

I am very interested in being one of your testers. I walk and ride depending on the course that I’m playing. I tend to play better when I walk because I believe I’m in less of a rush and am able use the time between shots to better contemplate my next shot. Not to mention the health benefits associated with. Also, walking. with a motorized would be so cool and help to preserve energy towards finishing a round of golf…

I play 3- 4 times a week with a push cart and full bag. Been caught too many times in rain or bad weather with raingear or more clothes,.65 years old, hilly course and no intention of riding at all. This is the direction I’m headed for sure

Living in California, I am fortunate to play year round. Currently I play my local courses on average, three times a week. I am a consistent walker, enjoying the additional exercise immensely. In recent years, since retirement, I have transitioned from carrying my bag to the use of a push cart. Currently I have been considering the freeing option of a motorized push cart, or should I say trolly? I would excitedly welcome the opertunity to be one of your testers for this product. I currently walk Pinehurst #1 through #9 at least 4-5 rounds per week with an MGI Navigator. Have heard that Motocaddy may be a better option. I am willing to test this.

I belong to a two course muni. One is fairly flat and the other is hilly. The sixth, seventh and seventeenth are steep and are demanding holes that are tough to walk and navigate with a push cart. i would love to test out your product on these two courses. Would be interesting to see if your cart is up to the challenge.

Love to walk courses but I. Am getting up on my age so a electric cart would make it the difficult walks some of the up hill Holes so yes as the saying goes sighn me up coach I don’t smoke

I would love to be a tester for this product. I am 55 years old and live on a golf course. I walk at least 4 to 5 holes 3 days a week and 9 once or twice. The course here in northeastern Ohio would definitely put the cart to the test because it is hilly.. thank you

I walk in the mountains courses of Virginia near Winchester. I currently use a One Click push cart. It would be interesting to see if an electric cart could keep up with the challenges of the terrain. I normally play at least one hundred rounds a year. It would definitely be a thorough test.

I’ve experienced a few electric golf carts. How does this one handle steep slopes ie counter balance. How fast does it go? What if I want to jog? What if it starts raining ie is it waterproof? How long does the battery last and how much does it weigh? How tightly does it fold up? There are so many areas to test. Designing an electric golf cart poses a lot of challenges.

Like to walk when playing but my usual courses have large hills that get me huffing when using a push/pull cart. Hip replacement and bad knees keep me from carrying, but will walk our local 9 hole (with some big hills) while the young guys will rent a motorized cart/

This comes at a good time for me. I have played with a Powakaddy Robokaddy for several years but would love to compare it to a unit exhibiting more modern technology. I once said that if you ever saw me with a pull cart you could shoot me, but as I have gotten up into my 70s I need something to schlepp my clubs and I don’t want to have to provide the power to get it around.

I would love to test this product I am a retired army ssg that plays around the ft Campbell ky area and I use a push cart and walk on any course that I can I have been told the power carts are so much better for your back and still allowed you to work thank you

Perfect timing. I am a walker and currently use a clic gear push cart but am in the market to switch to a motorized pushcart since I am a little older. Alot of the courses I frequent have a good combo of flat and hilly terrain which would make a good testing site. Please allow me to be a tester. I’m interested. I play in a variety of conditions and courses. I always walk and use a push cart. I frequently play early and get a typical round done in under 2 hours. I would love to give one of these things a try and see if it can keep up.

Yes this would be awesome. Every Sunday I play with my buddy and we have the first tee time off and they all have electric carts and I’m the only one who carries the bag for 5 miles. My buddies give me crap about carry my bag. I always fall apart the last 4 holes it might be because I carry my bag lol. Would love the chance to test this product.

I golf several times a week. Until this season I have always used a cart. Recently I was diagnosed with heart disease. I have revamped my diet and lifestyle and have committed to only walking this year. A nice cart to help motivate me to continue to walk would be awesome.
