The onslaught of Masters-themed gear has officially begun.
The floodgates are open, the levee has broken, the dam has burst and the hounds are on the loose.
(Did I leave out any clichés?)
Anyhow, we’re just about three weeks away from the annual showdown on the banks of the Savannah River in east Georgia. OEMs and every purveyor of golf-adjacent gear are poised and ready.
Are you?
On the menu today is Callaway Apparel’s 2026 offering, Patrons Welcome. As far as names that dance around referencing the Masters without actually using “Masters,” “Patrons Welcome” is actually pretty original.
Let’s check it out.
Callaway Apparel Patrons Welcome line
Callaway Apparel is a subsidiary of Perry Ellis International and it works in partnership with Callaway to provide men’s and women’s clothing. In fact, Callaway-sponsored PGA Tour pro Max Greyersman will be wearing the collection as part of his Masters scripting.
It’s a limited lineup, featuring T-shirts, polos and layering. The focus, however, is on three polos and a quarter-zip. Because I can’t describe apparel nearly as artfully as apparel company press releases can, I have to share this nugget with you:
“Designed as a refined yet playful homage to the colors, flavors and visual cues synonymous with the special time of the golfing calendar …”
I don’t even need to finish the sentence. That kind of prose is green jacket worthy all by itself. And how Callaway Apparel deftly navigates the rest of the press release without using the word “Masters” is, well, masterful.
The copywriter absolutely deserves a bouquet of azaleas.
Speaking of azaleas
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before (actually, I’m quite sure I’ve mentioned this before) but Augusta-themed limited editions tend to way overdo it with the azaleas. I get it. They’re pretty, but there’s such a thing as too much pretty.
That said, I think I could rock the Patrons Welcome Azalea Gingham polo. It’s classic gingham with an azalea overlay that doesn’t overdo it. The contrasting collar balances it nicely.
On the other hand, there’s no such thing as too much pimento cheese-themed apparel. Every time I visit a Delta Skyclub in Atlanta, I go overboard with the pimento cheese, and the Pimento Mini Print polo reminds me of those happy times. Two cheesy thumbs up for this one.
And if you like Callaway’s signature chevron logo, you’ll love the Signature Chev Micro Print polo. It has a gazillion of them.
Lastly, if you ask any golfer, they’ll tell you there’s always room in the closet for one more quarter-zip. The Patrons Welcome version is Augusta-green, water-repellent and ready for some spring golf.
