Callaway Happy Gilmore 2 Chrome Tour: Just Tap It In

Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 debuts July 25 and Callaway is celebrating with two limited-edition Chrome Tour offerings that cater to different golfer preferences while still appealing to one of the most iconic films within the golf genre (not that there are many to begin with).

The Happy Gilmore 2 Chrome Tour collection includes a TruTrack-adjacent hockey jersey-patterned version featuring Happy’s No.18 jersey design with “it’s all in the hips” and a cleaner white version with “just tap it in.”

Two balls, two personalities

The hockey jersey version features Happy’s No. 18 prominently displayed along with hockey stick graphics and “it’s all in the hips” prominently featured.

For golfers who prefer a cleaner look, the white version maintains the Happy Gilmore theme with “just tap it in” while keeping the visual noise to a minimum. It’s the perfect middle ground between personality and performance for those who want to keep things relatively traditional.

The missed opportunity

As is often the case with these limited editions, Callaway left some fun (or at least my idea of it) on the table. “It’s all in the hips” and “just tap it in”? Really? That’s what we’re going with?

Look, I get it. Corporate lawyers probably had nightmares about putting “the price is wrong, bitch!” on a golf ball. And I’m sure not everyone in the room would have been on board with “you eat shit for breakfast?” but that’s exactly what would have made these balls legendary. But, again, that’s just my opinion.

I mean, we’re talking about Happy Gilmore here, not some wholesome family golf movie. The entire appeal is the unhinged hockey player who says inappropriate things and somehow makes it work. Playing it safe with the quote selection is like making a G-rated version of Deadpool.

The complete collection

While the Happy Gilmore 2 Chrome Tour balls are available now, Callaway is also releasing a limited-edition Odyssey Hockey Stick putter on July 25 to coincide with the movie’s Netflix debut. The putter features updated technology and a Happy Gilmore 2-inspired sock headcover for the complete experience.

Availability

Both Happy Gilmore versions are available now at Callaway retailers worldwide for $59.99 per dozen. For an additional $5 over the standard offering, the price might be wrong (bitch) but just tap it in—these are going to sell. Given the popularity of Callaway’s limited-edition offerings and the nostalgic appeal of the Happy Gilmore franchise, they probably won’t stick around long.

Whether you prefer the full hockey jersey treatment or the cleaner white version, both deliver Chrome Tour performance with enough personality to make your golf bag more interesting. Callaway just could have made them legendary instead of merely entertaining.
