I watch the Masters every year on Sunday to see who’s going to make birdies & possibly eagles. I record the US Open and watch it at a later date, a) to fast forward through the commercials, and b) to see who’s, not going to make the occasional birdie, but who will screw up. Cannot think of any other sport where a single event is so changed by the powers that be (the USGA) to affect THEIR desired outcome. Watch, since they can’t make many courses longer, they’ll just make the short par fives into par fours now. The USGA had their head up their ass the past 20 years while all the equipment improvements wete going wild. Now I love to see the dumb looks on their face when asked why some classic courses are obsolete.
