Tiger, TaylorMade are Officially in Their Sun Day Red Era

Fresh off the heels of February’s announcement, Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf have officially launched Sun Day Red, including the first collection of golf gear, apparel and accessories.

When it was announced back in February, Sun Day Red drew mixed opinions from golf fans. Not for nothing, the proverbial golf shoes left for Sun Day Red to fill are rather large. Now that we’ve finally arrived and Sun Day Red gear is available for golfers to see, touch and feel, the mission becomes more apparent.

Sun Day Red’s goal is to redefine apparel and footwear. That, in and of itself, is no small feat. But, the Woods endorsement and TaylorMade backing is already enough to propel the brand to the forefront of ongoing discussions of fashion and function.

Sun day Red

“I am thrilled with the Sun Day Red apparel and accessories that we have put together,” said Tiger Woods.
“Every detail has been meticulously designed, prioritizing the athlete first at every step, resulting in a
collection that exceeds the highest standards. Personally, I have loved wearing the products, and I am ready to see our brand proudly embraced all over the world.”

The first collection is highlighted by two Woods-approved designs: the Training Dry Hoodie and the 3D Light Hoodie. In addition to these two pieces, you’ll have access to polos, shorts, tee shirts and more.

Sun Day Red

It’s important to recognize the remarkable amount of effort it took to get here. That said, TaylorMade and Woods are already looking ahead at what Sun Day Red can become, not just what it is now.

Over time, the brand will seek to expand to non-North American markets and build out a comprehensive line of gear for women and children. No sign of any Tiger Woods golf shoes just yet, but we will see where that one goes.

Until then, golfers are invited to “come and see” what this is all about.

“We have been eagerly awaiting this moment since our brand was first announced in February 2024,” said Brad Blankinship, President, Sun Day Red. “The outpouring of support from our fans has exceeded our wildest dreams. We are excited for everyone to experience firsthand the exceptional quality of Sun Day Red apparel.”

Hard to believe people will pay those prices just to wear Tiger’s brand. But you know some will. I’m curious as to his sales expectations, whether he’s expecting tons of golfers to buy (like they did with Nike) or to position it as an upscale niche brand. I really can’t believe tons of golfers are going to be dropping $150 on “a” polo shirt. Maybe it’ll be the piece of clothing that someone buys just one of and wears on special golfing occasions.

Hey, if I find one for $29.95 at Marshalls, then I’ll buy!

Why is everyone so concerned about the price? This is the price of golf apparel in the mid-high end space. Anything not named puma/under armor/nike/adidas is priced as golf/lifestyle. Take your pick: Greyson, Polo/RLX, Peter Millar, Lindberg, Galvan Green, g/fore, Malbon etc. all priced similar and often much higher than Sun Day Red.

For all the criticism I think the logo is better than Jacks bear or Norman’s shark but can’t touch the Palmer umbrella.

No. Peter Millar polos are in the $110 range. Same for Malbon. These look in the $120-$175 range. Maybe that’s chicken feed for you, but it’s going to matter to a lot of folks.

These clothes will appeal to a niche markets just like the brands above. This is a far cry from the $60-80 Nike shirts that tiger pedaled when he was with them

I think the Tiger logo is fine. I think the name of the brand, and particularly the splitting of the word “Sunday” into two different words is, simply, stupid.

      The prices are nuts. Nuts.

I’m a huge Tiger fan, and this entire effort gets a hard pass from me. Just no.

Not interested. Not in the polo, not in the logo, not in the rest of his career.

No interest whatsoever – agree with Tom, worst logo ever created.

I’m a devout Tiger fan. But you couldn’t pay me to wear his new apparel line. For those who are interested, the pricing/cost is outrageous. Very bland looking. Little appeal if any! Sad actually!!

Absolutely WORST logo in the world. Won’t wear it ever and if I win something with this logo I’ll give it back

Outrageous pricing for a new brand! Just because it’s Tiger and TaylorMade joining forces shouldn’t matter. Shorts are almost $200? That gets a solid “No” to ever trying this brand! Overhyped and overpriced! Two Thumbs Down 👎
