Metalwood, FootJoy Team Up for Their Second Golf Shoe

Last winter, the footwear pros at Footjoy linked up with one of our favorite under-the-radar brands, LA-based Metalwood Studio, to launch the delightfully retro, western-inspired “Above Snakes” version of FJ’s Wilcox silhouette. Pairing classic saddle shoe looks with faux snakeskin, the Wilcox blended everything we love about Footjoy’s Premiere line with the streetwear sensibilities of Metalwood, capturing this moment in golf style perfectly.

It gave golfers of all types a covetable shoe that was just out there enough to turn the heads of style aficionados but wouldn’t seem like a huge swing fashion-wise for the more modest golfer.

One of the most popular golf collaborations of the year, the Above Snakes Wilcox sold out in mere moments. If you missed out on the first collab or are just hearing about it for the first time, you’re in luck — FJ and Metalwood have teamed up for a second collaboration, this time debuting a brand-new Premiere silhouette: the Field LX.

A variation of FootJoy’s popular Field shoe, the Field LX sports a mudguard just above the welt that wraps around the entire shoe, giving it a rugged yet refined look. The FJ x Metalwood Field LX, dubbed “The Executive,” features warm, earthy tones that are easy to match with any golf attire you may already have, pairing a creamy upper with the brown woven leather mudguard. A waterproof leather upper and a VersaTrax+ sole with soft pulsar cleats make this shoe a comfortable year-rounder that excels in all conditions. It’s safe to say we’re going to be fighting to get some for ourselves.

Limited stock of the shoe will be available Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Eastern, exclusively at metalwood.studio and in Metalwood’s La Brea store in Los Angeles.
