Titleist T-Series Black Irons

I love it when things are simple.

What you see here are the same Titleist T-Series irons you can buy right now, except they’re black. With that, I’m not going to rewrite last year’s story. Just understand that with the T-Series Black, you get everything the current Titleist T-Series has to offer and a fresh coat of paint.

As you’re probably aware, black finishes differ by manufacturer. This time around, Titleist is using a durable Titanium Carbide Vapor. It’s darker than the black used on previous T-Series. It’s smudge-resistant, too, which is nice if you’re bothered by fingerprints. The finish is common across all four T-Series iron models which is what you want if you plan to blend sets (and you probably do).

Also, Titanium Carbide Vapor just sounds cool. I kinda want it.

Stock shafts in the Titleist T-Series Black offering differ by model but all feature a blacked-out Onyx finish.

  • T100: True Temper AMT Tour White Onyx
  • T150: True Temper Project X LZ Onyx
  • T200: True Temper AMT Black Onyx
  • T350: True Temper AMT Red Onyx

If none of the above works for you, feel free to order with any shaft in the Titleist catalog.

All come with a Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Flat Cap Grip but, again, you’re free to go in a different direction.

T-Series Black Irons – Availability and pricing

Titleist T-Series black iron

Titleist T-Series Black Irons are available in right- and left handed.

Pre-sale begins Feb. 11 with full availability Feb. 28.

My understanding is that these are a limited release and the expectation is they will sell out. Bottom line: If you think you want them, you should neither dilly nor dally in your pursuit.

Retail price is $271 per iron ($1,899 for a seven-piece set).

The only thing I dislike is that Titleist does this in the second year of release, as opposed to just making them available in the first year.

I just got a fitted set of T200’s, do you think it’d be possible to get just the heads and have them fitted to my current shafts?

      Titlist gets it!

Everyone else releases a Blacked-out variant of maybe one iron line. Want a players iron from Callaway? Sorry they only did the GI stuff this year… Maybe next time!

Then Titlist comes along, and is like ‘hey, want to combo-set T200s into T150s with consistent bag aesthetic? We gotchu fam…’
