Ghost Golf Just Dropped The Best Masters-Inspired Bag And Collection Ever

According to fellow MyGolfSpy contrarian, John Barba, when it comes to Masters-themed limited editions, he generally gives COBRA and Vessel a shared gold medal. I don’t disagree with him. However, if COBRA and Vessel earn gold medals, Ghost Golf earns a rhodium medal with this year’s Masters-themed bag. This seriously blows their competition out of the water because, visually, this bag is striking.

Everything about Ghost Golf’s Patrons Only Bag screams “Augusta National” in a loud but refined way—that’s a difficult balance to strike, and Ghost has done it perfectly. Where other Augusta-inspired bags are a subtle nod to the tradition unlike any other, with the Patrons Only Bag, you know exactly what it’s about at the first glance. We’ve come to expect that sort of “in-your-faceness” with Ghost’s other releases, and their branding certainly isn’t for everyone, but through their use of gold as opposed to the traditional mustard yellow that is associated with Augusta, Ghost has crafted something that is elegantly loud, and it’s perfect.

The Masters is all about “tradition” and “restraint” but if you really think about it, getting tickets to the Masters is borderline impossible and Augusta National is one of the most exclusive clubs in the world—everything about ANGC and the Masters is very extra. Ghost definitely understands this and designed their Patrons Only Bag accordingly. The topographical designs, subtle azalea detailing, Masters-inspired font and gold carbon-fiber legs all work in tandem to create the best Masters-themed bag I’ve ever seen.

Ghost’s Patrons Only Collection includes the Stand Bag, GT-14 Cart Bag and Staff Bag, all of which are priced a bit higher than their regular-stocked bags. The Stand Bag is $515, the GT-14 is $575 and the Staff Bag is $675. Expensive? You bet. But if you love the Masters, they’re WAY cheaper than aftermarket tickets and souvenirs and somehow about on par with 2024’s Masters Gnome.

A golf bag is no good without headcovers and as with all Ghost limited-edition drops, they’ve released several different metalwood headcovers as part of the Patrons Only Collection: primary, secondary and my personal favorite, knit. If you’re not looking to get these metalwood headcovers to match your bag and only want a putter cover, have no fear. Ghost also has blade and mallet covers.

With three bags and a full range of headcovers, this collection is surprisingly robust. But wait, there’s more! For those of us who can only dream of shopping in Augusta’s pro shop, Ghost has us covered with several other accessories and, get this, a full range of Masters-inspired apparel. From polos to pleated pants, they’ve got just about everything anyone obsessed with the Masters could want, except the gnome. Speaking of the apparel, the cardigan is outstanding.

As I mentioned, the Masters is extra (that’s a good thing) and so is this bag and entire collection (also a good thing). Shop now while you have the chance.

As a huge Ghost Golf fan, this collection genuinely blew me away. They nailed something that’s really hard to pull off — loud AND elegant at the same time. The gold instead of the usual mustard yellow was such a smart call, and the topographical design with the azalea detailing is just chef’s kiss. Ghost has always had a bold identity but this feels like a real step up in refinement. The cardigan especially — I need it. Honestly at $515 for the stand bag, when you compare it to what Majors merch goes for on the aftermarket, it’s almost a bargain. Ghost keeps proving they’re in a league of their own with limited drops. Can’t wait to see this on the course during the Major.
