Jackson Koivun won the 3M Open in just his third start as a professional, finishing at a tournament-record 25-under and holding off Scottie Scheffler by three shots. That is impressive enough. However, as someone who loves looking through winning equipment setups, his irons immediately caught my attention.
Koivun doesn’t just play a combo set. He uses three different Titleist iron models and he changes shaft material in the longest iron. Having a combo set is not rare in 2026. Around 70 percent of PGA Tour winners had a combo set in play this year.
Jackson Koivun’s combo set
Koivun’s irons are:
- 3-iron: Titleist T250 with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI HY 95 X graphite shaft
- 4-iron: Titleist T100 with a Project X 6.5 steel shaft
- 5- through 9-iron: Titleist 620 MB Prototype with Project X 6.5 steel shafts
To me, the most interesting club is the 3-iron.
This is not the separate T250·U utility iron. He pairs the regular T250 head with a graphite shaft.
It’s a move some amateur golfers could learn from. When you get fitted, don’t rule out the idea of lighter or graphite shafts in your long irons, especially if you like a consistent shape throughout your set.
The T250 gives him more speed, height and forgiveness in the longest iron.
From there, the T100 4-iron acts as the bridge. It is more compact than the T250 but still offers a little more help than the 620 MB Prototype Koivun uses from the 5-iron down.
It is a great reminder that a combo set does not have to be split neatly. For Koivun, that required a few different iron models but it’s worked quite well so far.
