Ya know, Conner, my dream, is that some day, in the not so distant future, more golf shoes will be made with a solid base color other than white. I’ve stopped buying golf shoes, because, for the most part, I see white shoes, with a Navy accent, or a Gray sole, or an orange stitch, etc. This Puma shoe is no different. I love MC80s, but I have near all of them, minus the all black, and that 2025 non-RW&B thing. Same goes for 5+ pair of G/Fore. It’s no wonder I own 5 pair of Travis Matthew Cuater The Legend in Navy, and another in Black. My passion for buying golf shoes, has turned into fatigue.

I was curious whether there is any measure or rating for something related to how easy it is to clean white shoes, or how well white shoes resist discoloration after tramping around in the mud. I checked the 2025 shoe test article, and I see it says: “Weather Protection (Elements): Each pair of shoes is exposed to a controlled water test to check its ability to handle wet conditions. We also consider how easy they are to clean after a muddy round or two.” So that it something, though there was no breakdown of ratings so I couldn’t see how shoes rated in that category. It might be good to have something more explicit, both about the discoloration perhaps only for shoes with a significant white area, and for having the category ratings actually listed. Testing for discoloration may be fairly involved though and might warrant its own effort and article.
My old FootJoy Countours have a significant amount of white and I’ve actually gotten many years out of them without them looking horrible. And I walk through junk quite a bit on the course. They are due for replacement now though. But that shows white isn’t a dealbreaker.
I will say these Puma shoes certainly do look classy and like classic golf shoes.
