Surprise! Adam Scott Has A New Putter This Week

Since his three-putter experiment at the BMW PGA Championship in September, Adam Scott has largely been using old faithful: the L.A.B. Mezz.1 Max Sweeper. During yesterday’s practice round at the Farmers Insurance Open, Scott was spotted gaming neither the OZ.1 HS nor the Mezz, but instead the new L.A.B. DF3i.

Scott’s DF3i appears to be built to familiar specs, featuring his trusted TPT shaft and a Press Pistol II grip. The surprise comes in the alignment department where he opted for L.A.B.’s rather busy DD alignment. What continues to make Scott one of the most interesting players on Tour is exactly this kind of tinkering. While he’s best known as a broomstick loyalist, Scott has admitted that he frequently practices with a short putter, even when a long putter ultimately makes it into competition.

It remains to be seen whether the DF3i finds its way into tournament play this week at Torrey Pines. As our in-house Adam Scott expert, I’d be surprised if it does—and even more surprised if it sticks around long-term. That said, this is Adam Scott we’re talking about. He could absolutely commit to the DF3i from here on out and, honestly, I’d be here for it. As Bobby Brown said, he doesn’t need permission, he makes his own decisions. That’s his prerogative. We’ll all be watching to see if the DF3i makes it into competition this week. And if it does, don’t worry, I’ll be the first to tell you.

Did Adam Scott use the new short putter at the Farmers?

I’m in almost the same boat as ray t. Tried the Maxfli Tour X–feels like a range ball rock and is definitely 10 yards shorter than my gamers listed below. Gave away the remaining unused balls from the dozen I unfortunately wasted my money on at Dicks.
Suggest Vice Pro Plus, AVX, or Srixon XV Divide.

Golf ball question..I am 70 years old, 10 handicap with an excellent short game but need more distance from my driver to help put shorter clubs in my hand for approach shots. I need a ball that will maximize driver distance and still provide the best Greenside control/spin available.

If you live in the States, Maxfli Tour X would be my suggestion.
