The Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection Takes Augusta Limited Editions To A Whole New Level

As Augusta-themed Limited Editions go, you won’t find much better than The Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection.

That is, maybe until Friday (he said in a not-so-subtle piece of foreshadowing).

These “first-major-of-the-year” limited editions are dropping fast and furious now that the big day is just over a week away. Bridgestone, along with COBRA and Vice, is one of the few companies that always packs some extra cool into its limited edition creations. We’re not going to say Bridgestone has outdone itself this year, but we can confirm the Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection is, as they might say down in Georgia, purdy dadgum impressive.

Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection

Let’s take a look.

The Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection

First off, I’d like to give Bridgestone an Augusta-back-nine-birdie high five for not going the Azalea route. Hey, I like flowers as much as the next guy, but c’mon, man; Azalea-related Augusta stuff has fallen into a giant vat of liquid cliché it can’t get out of. We can do better, people.

Fortunately, being a Georgia company, Bridgestone knows peaches.

“The first major of the year is an inspiring time for golfers,” says Bridgestone Golf Ball Marketing Manager Elliot Mellow. “Our new Peach Reserve capsule is designed to celebrate this amazing time of year.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s get to the goodies.

The basic Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection package is moderately cool, but does teeter a bit toward the non-exciting. It features a dozen Bridgestone TOUR B X golf balls with the Peach Reserve logo and a peach-colored “35” play number on each ball. The “35” references 1935, the year Bridgestone was founded.

As usual, Bridgestone outdoes itself with packaging (anyone remember last year’s Georgia Spring Break lunch box?). The balls come in a unique, retro-style set of containers designed to reflect Augusta National’s previous life as a fruit tree nursery.

The obligatory bucket hat or golf cap (your choice) and a towel round out the collection. The balls are cool, the rest is nice but not memorable.

That’s not so “dadgum impressive”

No, it’s not. But this is.

As part of the Peach Reserve Collection, Bridgestone is offering a special limited edition package that includes an ultra-premium, ultra-limited edition milled putter from upstart putter maker Hanna Golf.

How ultra-limited? Try 12 total, with each putter custom numbered.

“It’s a thrill for me to work with Bridgestone and to put their name on my hand-crafted putters,” says Hanna Golf founder, owner, mill-master and chief cook and bottle washer Jared Doerfler. “We made only 12 of them, so players who want the best of the best will have to act quickly.”

The putter is a special Peach Reserve edition of Hanna’s Amarillo putter, an Anser-style blade milled from 303 stainless steel. It has a sweet bronze PVD finish, a green, hand-stitched leather grip and a custom leather headcover.

Doerfler started Hanna Golf last summer from his home in Mason City, Iowa, He has three basic putter styles currently and, as a boutique shop, specializes in limited editions.

Bridgestone Peach Reserve Collection: Price and availability

If you want the Peach Reserve Limited Edition Putter Bundle, you better hurry as only 12 are available. It sells for $479.99.

The standard Peach Reserve Bundle (no putter) includes a dozen Peach Reserve balls, your choice of a cap or bucket hat and the Peach Reserve towel. It runs $99.99.

Let’s see that towel better. The font on there looks pretty cool.
