The Truth About Temu Golf Shoes

Whether you walk or ride, having golf shoes that are comfortable and perform well is critical. The price of golf shoes varies but, in general, quality does not equate to inexpensive. Can a pair for less than $40 from Temu perform well and be comfortable? Let’s find out!

The Problem:

Once again, this comes down to price. Golf is overall not the cheapest of sports to get into. It is often the little things that add up and finding ways to save here and there can make a big difference. Is it possible that spending close to $100 less than average on a pair of Temu shoes can provide some relief?

The Solution:

Temu has become a go-to spot for many golfers looking to get deals on equipment. The issue is that there are a lot of options and knowing what is actually decent can be a challenge. The Men’s Professional Golf Shoe from Temu comes in seven colors, claims to be waterproof yet breathable and includes “cable “non-slip rotary buckle” closure system that’s kinda like BOA, but isn’t exactly BOA (it’s a knockoff). Still, sounds like a winner!

How I Found Them:

As with any growing family, we have a budget we do our best to stick to. Temu has become a regular spot for us to find smaller household items so when what looked to be quality golf shoes jumped to my recommended list, I had to give them a deeper look. The fall and spring seasons here in Switzerland are very wet so waterproof shoes are essential. At the risk of them not performing great, I figured they were worth a try and could be my wet day shoes at the very worst.

How They Worked (Or Didn’t):

I was really excited when they arrived and was pleasantly surprised with their look and feel. I chose the brown color as it was different from my typical gray or black. This was also my first time ever using a pair of shows with a “rotary buckle” closure system (the Velcro shoes I wore as a toddler don’t count) I also liked that these were spikeless because,  as someone who walks all his rounds, I find spiked shoes a bit less comfortable.

Sizing:

This always seems to be the big issue when it comes to ordering online or buying things without being able to try them on. I ordered these in what would be my normal size and, thankfully, they fit true to size. Not too big or small and not overly wide. For those looking at wide shoes, I don’t feel these would be a great fit or, at least, ordering a half size up would be a must.

Waterproof?

I have played enough rounds in the wet to know whether these receive a passing grade. I would say they are water-resistant, not waterproof. On mornings where there is dew on the ground and damp grass, these worked just fine. However, on days it actually rained, my feet got wet. It has a lower heel section that invites water to seep in over time.

Comfort:

I will give them a passing grade as my feet did not hurt or feel cramped. There is enough cushion in them to be soft but stable, and the closure system works well, so I felt secure when swinging. Are these as comfortable as my FootJoy or adidas? No, but as a backup pair of shoes, these are good and meet what I would call a baseline level of comfort. They are not nearly as breathable as I had hoped. My feet get hot on the best of days and these also trapped a lot of the heat inside.

Traction:

Another basic grade here. While I did not slip or slide, I did find that the bottom accumulated more grass and mud than my other shoes. This meant extra cleaning had to be done between holes in order to maintain traction. “Adequate”, I feel, is the perfect way to explain it.

Final Verdict:

These are decent shoes for the price. If I was looking to save a few dollars on shoes, these would be under consideration. They are not as good or have the same performance, traction and comfort as higher-priced options. However, as a basic shoe for someone looking for solid build quality that fits true to size with a good level of features, these are a winner. The non-slip rotary buckle system works like a dream and secures your foot really well. The waterproofness and durability leave a little to be desired but are still OK.

In the end, these will remain backup shoes and ones I use every so often when I know the course will be damp—but not wet.
