The Vice Golf Ball Variety Pack: For Golfers Who Want It All

Are you old enough to remember getting 24 little boxes of cereal in one big package?

Kellogg’s called it the “Kellogg’s Fun Pack” and when Mom brought one home, you knew you’d be eating breakfast like a Rockefeller for the next three weeks.

In that spirit, we’d like to offer Vice Golf a ceremonial lovin’ spoonful of Fruit Loops for bringing the concept to the game we love. Say hello, friends, to the solution to a problem you didn’t know you had: the Vice Golf Variety Pack.

Vice Golf Variety Pack

Did you ever have to make up your mind?

The Vice Golf Variety Pack is the same idea as the Kellogg’s Fun Pack, only with golf balls instead of Frosted Flakes and Apple Jacks. It features eight sleeves of Vice Golf balls. Each sleeve contains three Vice golf balls bearing one of Vice’s distinct colorways or designs.

Vice is promoting the Variety Pack as a solution to a particularly vexing problem: which one of Vice’s unique, colorful or fun designs should you buy? Well, maybe it’s not a vexing problem. But if you struggle with commitment issues, the Variety Pack can ease your burden. After all, buying a full dozen Vice Pro Air Cotton Candy balls if you’re really not sure you’re a cotton candy kinda guy is the kind of stress I don’t need in my life.

If you pick wrong, well, you’re stuck with a dozen Vice golf balls you don’t like and you’ll have to buy a different dozen. In the world of problems, it isn’t really a big one. But that doesn’t mean you can’t offer a solution.

The Vice Golf Variety Pack rewrites the math a little. If there’s a ball you don’t like, well, you only have to deal with three of them.

What’s in the Vice Golf Variety Pack?

The Vice Golf Variety Pack includes six sleeves of balls already in the Vice catalog plus two sleeves of soon-to-be-released specials. For the time being, only golfers savvy enough to buy the Variety Pack will have early access to the Vice Pro Royal Gold and Watermelon Bubblegum golf balls.

And that, friends, is a sentence I never thought I’d have the opportunity to write.

Anyhoo, here’s the Variety Pack rundown.

First is a sleeve of Vice Pro Plus balls in plain white. The Pro Plus is Vice’s four-piece ball with a cast urethane cover. Next is the three-piece, urethane-covered Vice Pro with the Pro Pro Tracer alignment aid.

Next is the aforementioned Vice Pro Air Cotton Candy ball. The Vice Pro Air is a softer version of the Vice Pro and the cotton candy pink-blue-purple color gradient will have you reaching for your toothbrush by the time you reach the turn.

Also included is the Vice Tour Zap, Vice’s durable Surlyn-covered ball adorned with tiny lightning bolts for the electrician or San Diego Chargers fan in your life. There’s also the Vice Drive Yellow, Vice’s two-piece Surlyn ball built for yellow-loving distance seekers, and the recently released Vice Pro Fireball with the Pro Tracer alignment aid.

Then we have Vice’s two pre-release models. The aforementioned Watermelon Bubblegum Vice Pro ball is built for summer in pink and green. The Royal Gold Vice Pro features a purple-and-gold color gradient and is perfect for the Minnesota Viking fan in your life.

I suppose it would be perfect for the L.A. Laker fan in your life, too. But if you do have an L.A. Laker fan in your life, I’m not sure we can be friends. As a Celtics lifer, it just wouldn’t work out.

      John,
Only you could do an article about golf balls and make it completely enjoyable and fun. I love the way you put things and yes, I remember the Kellogg’s multi-box pack which we begged mom for.
