The Zero-Torque Putters Golfers Are Buying And How They Performed In Our Testing

What golfers buy and what performs best don’t always match. We asked PGA TOUR Superstore for a list of their top-selling zero-torque and low-torque putters and compared it to our 2025 and 2026 testing data to see where the two line up and where they don’t.

Zero-torque is especially interesting right now because the performance has been difficult to ignore. When we combined all of our 2026 blade, mallet and zero-torque results and ranked them by PuttView Handicap, the top 15 were zero-torque. The category is growing quickly and golfers are paying attention.

PGA TOUR Superstore’s list includes zero-torque and low-torque models. Scotty Cameron’s OC putters, for example, are considered low-torque rather than true zero-torque.

Putters golfers are buying and that performed well

There are two especially clear overlaps between the sales information and our 2026 performance results.

Odyssey Ai-Dual Square 2 Square #7

The Odyssey Ai-Dual Square 2 Square #7 is about as clean of a match as you’ll find. It appears on the current best-seller list and it was the best zero-torque putter in our 2026 testing.

The #7 finished with a -8.1 overall PuttView Handicap and was strong at every distance. It ranked second from medium range and was the best putter in the test from long range with a -10.4 PuttView Handicap. That consistency is what ultimately separated it from the rest of a very strong field.

If you’re looking for a zero-torque putter with retail interest and testing performance behind it, this is the most obvious place to start.

Wilson Infinite Zero-Torque Lakeview

The Wilson Infinite Zero Torque Lakeview is the other one that stands out. It also appears among the current top sellers and finished fourth overall in our 2026 zero-torque testing with a -7.5 PuttView Handicap.

Its biggest advantage was from short range. The Lakeview posted a -9.0 short-putt PuttView Handicap, the best short-range result in not just in the zero-torque test but across our entire 2026 putter testing cycle. At $199.99, it also showed that you don’t have to spend $400 or $500 to get top-level zero-torque performance.

L.A.B. Golf has some history in our testing

Several L.A.B. Golf models appear on the current sales list, including the DF3 and DF3i, and we have testing history with both generations.

The DF3 was part of our 2024 mallet test, back when zero-torque putters were still being evaluated within the larger mallet category. It earned an 8.54 overall score, including a 9.0 from five feet, and finished among the better-performing mallets in that test. The MEZZ.1 MAX also performed well with an 8.28 overall score.

In 2026, the newer DF3i finished 12th in a much deeper dedicated zero-torque field with a -6.4 PuttView Handicap. It also received the highest subjective tester ratings for sound, feel and likelihood of purchase. Those subjective scores don’t factor into the performance ranking but they do give us some insight into why these L.A.B. putters sell so well.

A popular putter that didn’t match the performance

There is one particularly clear example where the sales information and testing results move in different directions.

The Scotty Cameron Studio Style Fastback OC appears on the current top-selling list from PGATSS but finished DFL out of 26 in our 2026 zero-torque test with a -3.4 PuttView Handicap. Its short and medium-range results were the biggest issue although it was considerably better from long range with a -7.8.

That doesn’t mean the Fastback OC is a bad putter or that a golfer can’t putt well with it. It simply means that when we look strictly at the performance data from our test, there were stronger options.

It’s also a good reminder of why retail popularity and independent testing answer different questions.

The takeaway

The biggest story here isn’t that every popular zero-torque putter performed well or that the best-performing putters automatically become the best sellers. It’s that golfers appear to be embracing a category that is also producing some of the strongest putting performance we’ve measured.

The Odyssey Ai-Dual Square 2 Square #7 and Wilson Infinite Zero-Torque Lakeview are the clearest examples where the two sides line up. Both are showing up among the putters golfers are buying and both finished near the top of our 2026 testing.

Best-seller information tells you what golfers are choosing. Testing tells you how those choices performed. When the same putter shows up near the top of both, it’s probably worth paying attention.
