This $35 Golf Shirt Is Just As Good As Any $150 Option

Forget what “big golf” wants you to think: it’s okay to wear solid golf shirts, and they look good. Full stop. You don’t need stripes or patterns in order to look good on the course.

While it may sound a bit conspiratorial, I do believe a lot of apparel brands get away with charging $100-plus for golf polos because they’re making shirts with stripes or patterns. From a performance perspective, the majority of premium golf polos are synthetic and mass-manufactured. In short, they aren’t all that special.

I’ve reached a bit of a saturation point in golf. Equipment, apparel and accessories are egregiously overpriced, and I’m always on the hunt for exceptional value for money. That’s why I play the MacGregor MACSPD irons and why I’m smitten with Quince’s golf apparel, specifically, the FlowKnit Breeze Performance Polo.

I’ll keep things brief because the headline tells you everything you need to know. The $34.90 FlowKnit Breeze Polo is just as good as any premium golf shirt on the market. It’s genuinely impressive that Quince is making a shirt this good for roughly a third of what many premium brands charge. As soon as I took the FlowKnit Breeze out of its eco-friendly packaging, I knew it was good. If I didn’t know the price, I would have assumed it cost more than $100.

Now, I’ll admit that I usually prefer textured and/or cotton golf polos. That’s just where my taste leans. But this is one of the rare performance polos that genuinely works for me. It looks premium, feels premium and performs like something far more expensive. It moisture-wicks extremely well, moves comfortably and, after numerous wears and washes since August 2025, still looks and feels practically brand new.

More importantly, it helps achieve one of my favorite looks in golf: the Adam Scott school of simple elegance. Plain solid polo. Crewneck sweater over the top. Neutral bottoms. Brown leather belt. That’s it: simple, clean, mature golf style.

It also works well beyond the course. Running out for a quick morning coffee and don’t want to wear a plain T-shirt? Throw this on. You’ll look elevated without feeling overdressed. For $35, this shirt is absolutely insane.

The Greg Norman clothing line is another excellent value. Polos regularly sell for 3/$99. Shorts, pants, pullovers, socks, etc are sold in its outlet stores.

There’s also good apparel from PGA Superstore and Grand Slam. Both have nice stuff that’s reasonably priced and they both have pretty good color & pattern choices. I would also add Columbia, which is better known for its outdoor gear (also really good). The issue I have with the $$ brands is their shirts assume you’re a 6’2” or taller . If you’re not (like me), then the shirt looks more like a dress.

If you haven’t checked out DTWOOO’s shirts and hoodies yet, you’re missing out. Super comfortable and great value.
