This Cleveland x SWAG RTZ Wedge Collab Is MONEY!

This new Cleveland x SWAG RTZ wedge collab isn’t something you’d normally expect from Cleveland Golf, but it is something you didn’t know you’d crave.

Yeah, they’re pretty cool.

Frankly, we can’t remember the last time Cleveland put out a limited-edition anything, let alone an edgy, cash-based collaboration. Also frankly, we salute what sure looks like a bold move forward for the brand. We do know, however, that this is the first time SWAG has ever partnered with another golf company to create custom wedges.

If it helps, think of these wedges as a merging of Cleveland’s heritage and performance with SWAG’s bold personality and signature style.

Besides, who wouldn’t want a wedge with George Washington wearing shades on it?

Cleveland x SWAG RTZ wedges: What’s the deal?

Before we get too far down the limited-edition rabbit hole, understand these new Cleveland x SWAG RTZ wedges are the same as Cleveland’s existing RTZ wedges. There are no performance enhancements, special grinds or new groove technology.

The difference is truly only skin deep.

And that difference is money. Literally.

“Today’s golfers, especially younger players, want gear that’s an extension of who they are, not just what they play,” says Cleveland Marketing VP Chris Kircher. “When you find a partner who gets it, that’s when things get exciting.”

So, Cleveland provided the RTZ wedge, SWAG brought the presidents.  The wedges feature six limited-edition skins representing U.S. currency, albeit with a signature SWAG twist. You get Messrs. Washington, Lincoln, Hamilton, Jackson, Grant and Franklin, with each face blinged out with shades and plenty of gold. The rest of the package includes a custom black-and-gold ferrule, a True Temper DG Tour Issues S400 shaft and a black Golf Pride MCC grip.

Price and availability

These new Cleveland x SWAG RTZ wedge collabs will be available in 50-, 52-, 54-, 56-, 58- and 60-degree lofts in Cleveland’s MID sole grind.

This is a limited-edition offering, with only 1,550 pieces being made. For a limited edition, the pricing is not out of this world at $222.22 per wedge. While pricing isn’t out of this world, it is an oddly specific number.

They’re available starting today on both the SWAG and Cleveland Golf websites. You can also get them at Golf Galaxy, PGA TOUR Superstore and Club Champion.

Is this the first “official” time Cleveland has done this? I have a Cleveland 60-degree with Ben Franklin on a $100 bill laser etched on it I bought brand new from a reputable online golf store… was that done by someone’s own choice?
