Titleist has a strong Tour presence but also finds its way into the bags of many weekend warriors. In this Titleist Irons: Model By Model overview, we will describe what type of golfer is suited for each iron as well as the technology story behind them.
Titleist Release Cycle:
Unlike other companies that have a yearly release of irons, Titleist has a longer release cycle for their products, including their irons. A typical release cycle will be two years with different models being on opposing years. This means there is normally a new iron release each season but its predecessor will be two years old. There are also some models within the Titleist iron lineup that have a much longer lifespan if they could not be significantly improved upon. They will remain in the current stable of Titleist irons.
Key Technologies for Titleist
Titleist, in general, keeps things a bit simpler with their technologies. By this, I do not mean the technology is not complex but that the branding of this technology is more straightforward.
- Blending of Irons: This, while not a technology, is a key focus and feature for Titleist. It refers to having each iron purpose-built so ball flight and distances are optimized.
- Sole Design: This has been highlighted extensively in their newest irons. Titleist has worked with Vokey (their wedge branch) to optimize the sole progressively for each iron to improve turf interaction.
- Multi-Material Designs: As with many other brands, a lot of Titleist irons that have multiple materials used to enhance and improve CG placement as well as forgiveness characteristics. This is normally done by using tungsten placed in specific areas of the clubhead.

About the Titleist T100
Part of the newest release from Titleist, it is considered to be a modern Tour iron. The T100 is a multi-material iron with Dual D18 tungsten weighting and the new Vokey-Influenced Variable Bounce sole for enhanced turf interaction.
The T100’s forged dual-cavity construction includes a CNC-milled face to help with spin consistency and consistent flights. A progression from the original T100, the second generation has quickly become a popular all-around iron for many.
Titleist T150 Iron
Release Date: Aug. 25, 2023
Meant For: Better ball strikers, lower to mid-handicap players who want a little extra help in a smaller iron. Those who value precision and workability over forgiveness and max distance.

About the Titleist T150
The T150 was one of the most anticipated irons upon its release. With a similar look and profile as the T100 but with slightly stronger lofts and slightly larger shape, it looked to be one of the top-performing all-around irons.
Just as with the T100, the T150 includes Vokey-Influenced Variable Bounce Sole and Dual D18 tungsten weighting. Titleist describes the T150 as “The Faster Tour Iron” due to its stronger lofts and Muscle Channel that helps add ball speed. Add in the same CNC-milled face and you have a smaller-looking iron that still promises the forgiveness and distance many golfers search for.
Titleist T200 Iron

Meant For: Players seeking distance and forgiveness in an all-around performing iron. Those who could use a little help but still want good-feeling precision irons.

About the Titleist T200
The Titleist T200 is a hollow-body construction and is arguably the Titleist iron packed with the most technology. Still being a sleeker design, the T200 has a refined Max Impact Technology against a forged face for improved feel and sound.
Unlike some other hollow-body irons, it is not filled with any material. It still includes the same Dual D18 Tungsten Weighting and Vokey-Influenced Variable Bounce Sole but in a slightly larger package which many golfers will find more confidence-inspiring. The T200 is built for those looking to add distance to their iron game while maintaining great feel and precision.
Titleist T350
Release Date: Aug. 25, 2023
Meant For: A true game-improvement iron for those looking for maximum distance and forgiveness. Golfers of nearly any ability can play the T350, provided they don’t mind the size and shape.

About the Titleist T350
Tagged as the “Ultimate Game Improvement Iron” by Titleist, the T350 has a hollow-body design and forged face based on the T200.
The T350 has the same Max Impact Technology, tungsten weighting and Vokey-inspired sole but in a larger overall package. The T350 has a thicker topline and sole that should be appealing to those looking for a little more help with their irons. The forged face provides better feel and sound out of a hollow-body iron for those placing greater importance on that aspect of an iron.
Titleist T400
Release Date: Mar. 27, 2020
Meant For: Mid to high handicaps searching for game-improvement irons with added technology, forgiveness and distance.

About the Titleist T400
This is the most forgiving iron in the Titleist lineup. It has a larger overall body, longer blade length and thicker topline than any other Titleist iron. It includes their Super Thin L-Face to help with maximum ball speeds along with 100 grams of high-density tungsten in the longer irons for optimized forgiveness.
Unlike the previous irons mentioned, the T400 has a split sole design for improved turf interaction despite the wide design. This design also allows the weight to be pushed low and to the back of the clubhead, allowing golfers to get the ball in the air easier and providing maximum forgiveness. Slower swingers would be well-suited to the T400 irons and their distance-enabling characteristics.
Titleist 620 CB
Release Date: Aug. 30, 2019
Meant For: The best ball strikers and low handicap golfers who want irons built for feel and precision. Forgiveness is secondary and a premium is placed on consistent and manageable ball flights.

About The Titleist 620 CB
A classic cavity-back iron that is fully forged with progressive blade length throughout the set. Tungsten is included in the 3- and 4-irons for improved forgiveness. An updated sole design improves turf interaction. These are some of the longest-running irons in the Titleist lineup and are a true classic.
While the technology story may not be lengthy, the core purpose of the Titleist CB is to be a precision iron with a focus on feel, accuracy and workability with just a hint of forgiveness. For those looking for a classic design, there is little reason to look much further.

I have the T 400 and they are one of the best irons I have used. I’m a senior with swing speed slowing down and these help me alot. Their accuracy is among the best. I don’t work the ball much and these are just fine.
