First Look – TRUE linkswear Elements Golf Shoe

True story, I was starting to worry about TRUE linkswear. We hadn’t seen any 2016 product, and like several others of note, the company was a notable absentee from the 2016 PGA Show. But fear not, my friends, the company looks to be as strong as ever based on the recent announcement of its 2016 Elements Hybrid golf shoe.

“Never let the weather get in the way of your next found, ever again. Every detail of the Elements Hybrid was engineered to keep you comfortable in any element you may find yourself in, on, or of the links. If you’re simply transitioning from the morning dew to the afternoon heat, or you’re the type of player that plays in in every season in any weather – the breathable + waterproof Element Hybrid will ensure you enjoy the walk. Bring it on mother nature. #InMyElements.”

The Details

We’ll reserve final judgment on the Elements Hybrid until we’ve had a chance to test it out, but here’s a quick rundown of its key features:

  • 4X Waterproof – TRUE claims the Elements is tested to 4 times the industry standard, and offers 360° of waterproof-ness.
  • Breathable Upper – Waterproof doesn’t mean the shoe doesn’t breathe.
  • OUTLAST® Liner – Keeps your feet cool when it’s hot, and warm when it’s cold.
  • TRUE Comfort – Like all TRUE linkswear shoes, it’s designed to be comfortable
  • Flexline Stability – TRUE describes the Elements as both flexible and stable, but I’m guessing it trends towards mobility.

I’m a devoted customer and have about 6-7 pairs of True Links shoes that I have purchased over the years and they are all great. Just got a new pair of Elements – these things are so comfortable I literally don’t want to take the off, lol! Awesome shoes!

I cannot say I have ever been a fan of the Trues.
Most of their models look like they should have Velcro instead of laces to me. I think it’s the grey logo stripe. Just my opinion.
      But these look marginally better.

250 lbs on a soft green I would be leaving marks with those shoes too .That is walking properly !

May give the Nike Flyknits a run for my money, due to Nike Chukka cost for an all day spikeless. Solid point made in transitioning from morning dew to afternoon heat for us here in FL that play first on / last off!

Are those cleats meant for a football field, or a golf course? I would destroy a green a those things.

Why is it that you would destroy greens? I have not played Trues so I may be just ignorant in my questions though I must ask another. Do you pivot on greens under foot?

The tread pattern is nothing new. As long as you follow the same rules as with normal spikes (dont drag your feet etc.) these spikes are far less damaging then traditional soft spikes.

I want to like True’s shoes, but their build quality is awful.

I own 7-8 pairs of True shoes ranging from 1-4 years old. Only ever had build quality problems with one pair (sole started to detach from the bottom of the shoe), which was promptly replaced with a new pair within 3 days when I contacted the company. Ironically, it was my newest pair which had the problem, every other pair is still going strong after lots of use.

I think the build quality was much better with the older models. The pair of Protos I had held up pretty well for one walking season in Texas. When those wore out I tried the newer Motions and they immediately fell apart. So did the second pair they replaced them with. Great customer service, just awful build quality on the new lineup.

I like the GameChanger Pro and it performed nicely in the wet that was Florida the past couple of weeks, but this will be my replacement for the True Tour. Spiked shoes for carting it, and this for walking. And I even like the colors
