We Tested Two Popular “Tour” Gloves Head to Head. Here’s Who Came Out on Top

We have a showdown on our hands, a little “match play”, if you will.

The Titleist Players versus the PXG Players.

Both gloves scored an impressive 9.4/10 but one is $8 cheaper than the other.

Does $8 make a difference or is this an easy decision? Let’s find out.

Titleist Players

The Titleist Players golf glove won the “Staff Pick” badge in this year’s testing.

The Titleist Players looks nearly identical to models released in the mid 2000s. If it’s not broken, why fix it, right? If retro is your vibe, you can’t go wrong here.

The Titleist Players received high scores across the board from testers noting premium grip, feel and comfort. Testers noted a small amount of extra space in the fingers and palm leading to minor point deductions in fit.

At $31, the Titleist Players is one of the more expensive gloves from this year’s testing pool.

PXG Players

The PXG Players took home the “Runner-Up” badge in this year’s testing.

Testers noted a perfect balance between the $24 price and performance. The PXG Players is extremely comfortable. It’s rare to see this level of comfort without losing feel during your swing.

The PXG Players is available in white and black but not in any additional colorways.

Which glove should you pick?

I’ve noticed three types of buyers in the golf world.

The first is strictly concerned about performance and how it can improve their golf game.

The second is focused on getting the best bargain. Nothing wrong with this type of buyer. They know they’re trading performance for something they can afford. In this economy, I can’t blame you.

The last buyer is the reason household names get away with so much in terms of quality and production. These folks buy based on brand name and image and show little to no regard to the actual results.

If you’re a bargain hunter, the PXG Players will save you a whole $8. If you’re brand-loyal, go with your favorite brand.

Last but not least, if you’re looking for the best performance, you can’t go wrong here. Both gloves offer above average fit, grip, comfort and feel during your golf swing.

When comparing the players’ gloves from PXG and Titleist, you don’t have to think that hard. With both gloves scoring a 9.4/10, you know that you’re getting performance, regardless.

Performance isn’t the difference here. Price is.
