We tested six Odyssey putters as part of this year’s Most Wanted testing across three categories: blade, mallet, zero-torque. Combined, those categories represent nearly 50,000 putts. Here’s what the numbers say about Odyssey.
How all six Odyssey putters performed
PuttView Handicap scores are negative — lower is better.
| Model | Category | Rank | PV Scores (S/M/L) | Make % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ai-Dual S2S #7 | Zero Torque | 1 of 26 | -7.9, -6.2, -10.4 | 48.9% |
| S2S Tri-Hot Jailbird | Zero Torque | 6 of 26 | -7.8, -3.8, -9.5 | 48.0% |
| Jailbird Mini 1/2 Ball | Mallet | 20 of 29 | -3.6, +1.3, -7.9 | 42.9% |
| #7 1/2 Ball | Mallet | 28 of 29 | -0.4, -0.4, -3.4 | 39.5% |
| AI-Dual DW | Blade | 16 of 24 | -5.4, +6.4, -4.9 | 41.7% |
| AI-Dual #1 | Blade | 17 of 24 | -1.1, -0.4, -6.5 | 41.5% |
Zero Torque: Where Odyssey wins
The Ai-Dual S2S #7 ranked first among 26 zero-torque putters with a PV HCP of -8.1 and a make rate of 48.9 percent. That puts it ahead of every zero-torque putter we tested this year.
The S2S Tri-Hot Jailbird wasn’t far behind at sixth, posting a make rate of 48.0 percent and some of the tightest directional numbers in the category.
If you’ve been thinking about making the move to zero-torque, the S2S line gives you a strong entry point backed by real numbers. The Ai-Dual S2S #7 was the best short-range putter in the category and posted the strongest long-range score among all six Odyssey models we tested. For a putter that holds up across distances, this is where the data points.

Blade putters fell in the middle of the pack
In fairness, as a whole, the Putt View scores for blade putters were not as strong as they were for mallets and zero-torque.
The AI-Dual DW and AI-Dual #1 landed 16th and 17th out of 24 blade putters.
The DW’s medium-range score of +6.4 was the worst mid-distance result in the entire blade category. The #1 was more consistent across distances but still produced a make rate of 41.5 percent in a category where the top performers cleared 44 percent and above.
If you like blade putters and need help with shorter putts, the AI-Dual DW has a short-range score that holds up reasonably well against the field. Just don’t expect the same from mid-range and beyond.
Odyssey mallets didn’t have their best year
The #7 1/2 Ball finished 28th out of 29 mallet putters. A PuttView handicap of -1.1, a make rate of 39.5 percent and a long-range score of -3.4 that was by far the weakest in the field. The Jailbird Mini 1/2 Ball fared better but still checked in at 20th with a positive medium-range score.
The mallet category was led by Bettinardi’s BB 6.0 and BB 7.0, both of which posted make rates above 45 percent. The gap between those models and the Odyssey mallets is large.
If you’re already a mallet putter, you’re halfway there. The zero-torque models are the logical next step and the data gives you every reason to make the move.
Final thoughts
The zero-torque line is where Odyssey earned its keep in 2026. The Ai-Dual S2S #7 is the best putter we tested in 2026. Here’s a complete look at some of the other top models we found: Best Putters 2026.
