The Bottom Line

PXG 0311 XP Gen6 iron ranks 15th overall in our best player's distance irons 2023. If distance was king, 0311 XP Gen6 would be at the top of the food chain. It is the best for distance in this year's test. However, distance doesn't always correlate to accuracy and consistency. Compared to the rest of the field, PXG 0311 XP Gen6 ranks last for accuracy and forgiveness.

Pros

At the beginning of testing, it was obvious PXG 0311 XP Gen6 was going to claim the best for distance. It wasn't even close. From our perspective, it is an iron that flirts with the game improvement category and it shows.

Cons

With incredible distance, comes the likelihood of poor dispersion, inconsistent results off the face and inaccuracy. This is the case with the PXG 0311 XP Gen6 compared to the rest of the player's distance irons. The results show as 0311 XP Gen6 finishes last for forgiveness and accuracy.

About the PXG 0311XP Gen6 Irons

The PXG 0311 XP Gen6 Irons are the latest innovation in the PXG iron lineup, replacing the previous generation, the Gen5. These irons are designed to deliver exceptional performance on the golf course, combining distance, accuracy, and forgiveness to help golfers of all skill levels improve their game.

PXG 0311XP Gen6 Irons Technology and Features

The PXG 0311 XP Gen6 Irons are crafted with a hollow body construction, allowing for a thin face that promotes exceptional ball speeds and increased distance. The clubface is made with a high-strength steel alloy, enhancing durability while maintaining a sleek design.

One of the standout features of these irons is the unique internal cavity design. This design allows for precise weighting and optimal center of gravity placement, resulting in enhanced forgiveness and improved playability.

PXG 0311XP Gen6 Irons Performance

The PXG 0311 XP Gen6 Irons are engineered to provide an optimal launch angle and spin rate. The combination of the hollow body construction and the internal cavity design allows for a higher launch and lower spin, resulting in longer carry distances and increased stopping power on the greens.

While the primary focus of the PXG 0311 XP Gen6 Irons is distance and forgiveness, they also offer a good level of workability. Golfers will appreciate the ability to shape shots and control trajectory, allowing for greater control and versatility on the course.

Forgiveness is a key aspect of the PXG 0311 XP Gen6 Irons. The hollow body construction and internal cavity design help to redistribute weight and increase the moment of inertia (MOI), resulting in greater forgiveness on off-center hits. This forgiveness ensures that even when you don’t strike the ball perfectly, you can still achieve consistent distance and accuracy.
