Testers Wanted – Sub 70 849 Pro Driver

Sub 70 is the top direct-to-consumer golf company according to MyGolfSpy readers. This is due, in part, to the high-quality/low-cost nature of its equipment portfolio. And with the addition of the better player-focused 849 Pro driver, the company continues to update its resume with golf gear designed for lower handicap players.

The Sub 70 849 Pro driver is 450cc (10 cc less than the legal maximum) and fade-biased. In addition, the 849 Pro comes with a weight kit and is adjustable seven ways to Sunday. Each head can be adjusted two degrees up or down in 0.5- to 0.75-degree increments. At its lowest loft setting, the face angle sits 4.5 degrees open and, as you loft up, it reaches 3.5 degrees closed. It has three sole weights: a 12-gram weight in the rear and two three-gram weights in the heel and toe. The weight kit includes a six-, eight- and 10-gram weight, allowing you to adjust further for shot shape and launch.

With all of that said, we’d like to get feedback from MyGolfSpy readers.

I am currently living in Singapore and assisting in building a budding social media golf Chanel looking at the top courses around Asia.
Unfortunately Covid has slowed this down dramatically. I would love to be a part of the selection to test new and experimental products

Sam in England reporting for testing duties, I’m a 58 year old who’s recently retired, my handicap has dropped from 17 to 14 in the past 5 months, would love to trial this driver and report back on it’s performance and to see if it would actually take my driving up a notch or two,i recently bought the GCQuad to help my practice at the range, but the balls supplied aren’t great, so this would give me the incentive to go out on the course on my own and collect the data.

I have never bought a brand new driver because I believe they are overpriced and over-rated. It would be a blessing to try a new driver to show off my long drives as a 50+ golfer.

I would be interested in giving this driver a test run.. I currently am using a Titleist 915 D3, Stiff 70 gram shaft.. Age 61, handicap 4.7, play app 60 rounds a year. I’m looking to drop about 10 grams and maybe trying a regular flex shaft..
