I am a recent convert to using a golf rangefinder. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a convenient place to put it for easy access on both my stand and cart bag. The case it came with was nice but, given the zipper and my fear of losing it, I often place it in a bag pocket or cart mesh where it gets bumped around and is not conveniently accessible.
I play a lot and use both bags, depending on course and weather, so I need something which is transferable. Enter the Metal Golf Bag Clip. This broke the bank for all of $8 and has been a game-changer.
Searching through Amazon, I came across this simple product and thought, “What the hell? Why not give it a try? If it doesn’t work, maybe I can use it for something else. If it does then all the better!”
I will admit I only looked at photos and didn’t read too much about it before clicking the Buy Now button. As a result, when it arrived, I was surprised at how small it was. In hindsight, it makes sense for it to be that size to ensure it fits on any golf bag. The clip looks great with a matte-black middle square and outer black border.
It feels solid, firm and durable. Functionally, it works exactly as I had hoped. Slip it over the edge of any bag and you have a perfect convenient spot to store both your rangefinder and towel. As it is right there at the top, it additionally makes me very aware of where the rangefinder is and gives much easier access than the case.
There is also the added bonus of this working for my putter headcover. Simply toss the cover on the clip and it stays there.
This is such a simple yet useful product. It doesn’t break the bank or require a specific bag to be extremely functional.

Given the number of golfers I see using magnetic towels and rangefinders, a lot of us could benefit from having this simple metal clip. It doesn’t add weight; it just adds functionality and makes everything needed before and after the shot easily accessible. At under $10, why wouldn’t you give it a try?

The concept is great but I would go with something higher quality. I have been using the StickIt for 2 seasons and it has worked great. Yes, the StickIt is more than 2X the price, but you never have to worry about your ($200? $300? $400) rangefinder falling off, or the metal part coming unglued. To save $15? No thanks!
As to the functionality, it’s great. My rangefinder is easily accessible, just slide it off to use and put it back on when done. As long as the magnets are strong it will never come off accidentally. I’m using a Stripebird and it never moves on its own. I have to slide it off to use it.
