The Top 10 YouTube Golf Videos Of The Year

As you can probably guess, we are big fans of golf on YouTube.

It’s an on-demand space that is a blank slate for interesting golf content. Most of the top channels focus on creative matches/challenges with fun formats but there are also many instruction channels that are additive to the game.

Being a chronically online, golf-obsessed lunatic, I thought it would be cool to put together a list of my favorite YouTube golf videos of 2024. My only rule was that it had to be a golf-centric video published this year.

As always, I’m hoping all of you chime in with your favorites. When I make these “listicle” articles, the goal is to be a resource for everyone interested in finding great golf content. If you loved a video that isn’t on here, let us know in the comments below so all readers can see it.

Here are my top 10 YouTube golf videos of 2024:

10. Bryson playing Garrett Clark with kids’ clubs

This was the year of Bryson on YouTube, so it’s only right that he is featured in three of my top 10 videos.

The first is him playing against Garrett Clark of GM Golf—but DeChambeau had to use a set of junior clubs.

It’s pretty wild that he can even use these clubs at all, let alone compete in a match with them. I won’t give away the final tally but this one was entertaining.

9. Danny Maude explaining shoulder turn

Maude is my top golf instructor on YouTube so it is only fair to include him on this list.

In this video, Maude explains a common misconception golfers have about shoulder turn—and he goes through a drill that allows golfers to produce better compression.

I love the simplicity of the lesson. Golfers tend to think about power as how far you can turn your shoulders but that can actually hinder your power. Maude explains why.

8. Playing Wisconsin’s top 10 public courses in two days

I have No Laying Up as my top YouTube golf channel and this video is a great example why.

In this video, NLU’s D.J. Piehowski and Stephen Watson of Bally Sports Wisconsin play the top 10 public golf courses in their home state in just 40 hours.

The video is a great look at these stunning courses. It’s also a fun documentary of two golf lovers who are attempting the improbable.

In terms of production quality, I don’t think anyone can touch NLU.

7. Bryson trying to break the course record at a random public course

When we talk about what golfers like to see for entertainment, this is a great example.

DeChambeau, a two-time major winner, goes to a random public course in Dallas—a place where normal people play the game—and attempts to break the course record.

We’ve all sat around with our Saturday foursome talking about what a top player would shoot at our local muni. It’s pretty cool to see someone take on that challenge.

Spoiler: DeChambeau ends up in a parking lot at one point. Imagine walking up to your car and seeing that…

6. Bob Does Sports goes up against Max Homa

This is a great example of YouTube golf at its best.

Max Homa has an amazing personality. He’s funny, smart and enormously talented. We see parts of that shine through on the PGA Tour but a video like this one brings out his entire personality.

Homa matching with YouTube golf legend Fat Perez is a partnership we need to see more of.

The editing on this video is so quick and clear, eliminating dead space. It’s everything you want and nothing you don’t need.

5. Steph Curry plays golf with Good Good

While Good Good viewership was down in 2024, there is no denying their influence on the game. The channel is still among the giants.

My favorite video this year was when they played with NBA star Steph Curry. The idea to also play some basketball with Curry—in which he offers shooting lessons—was a stroke of genius.

Curry is a huge golf nerd and seems genuinely interested in growing the game. That includes his investment in TGL, the new simulator league where PGA Tour players compete against each other on four-man teams.

This was a phenomenal showcase of Curry’s skill and personality.

4. The Rick Shiels YouTube golf major

The godfather of YouTube golf, Rick Shiels, stays relevant by collaborating with some of the top personalities online.

I thought his best video of the year came in this 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 match involving Grant Horvat, the Bryan Bros, Fat Perez and Peter Finch. The production is awesome and it’s a fun format that fit in some of the best characters in YouTube golf.

Finch is highly underrated. The more he gets involved in these kind of matches, the better.

3. Bryan Bros. and Grant Horvat with Jon Rahm

While a lot of YouTube golf talk is about DeChambeau, Jon Rahm has also gotten steadily more involved since joining LIV.

This is a nearly flawless video. Come for Rahm playing in a plain black T-shirt. Stay for him taking a breakfast ball off the first tee (relatable).

The banter and cart cams in this video are top-notch. We get a lot of trash talk as Rahm and Wesley Bryan take on Grant Horvat and George Bryan.

Talk about a high level of skill on display among four dudes who are just having a great time on the course.

2. Grant Horvat takes on Phil Mickelson

Earlier this month, I wrote about how Phil Mickelson is getting more invested in YouTube golf.

That started with this incredibly entertaining match against Grant Horvat, a rising star in the YouTube golf world.

The match gets off to a mind-boggling start when Mickelson convinces Horvat to club up on his approach shot to the first hole. Horvat flies the green and hilarity ensues.

It’s a fine line for some of these videos. We all want to see interesting golf shots but we also want fun conversation.

This video makes an ace on both fronts.

1. Bryson’s Breaking 50 challenge with Bob Does Sports

This video had absolutely everything.

There was a dramatic conclusion on the 18th hole as Bryson tried to break 50 from the forward tees in a four-man scramble alongside the Bob Does Sports team.

There was a lot of interesting golf talk about how Bryson goes about playing the game.

There was even an in-depth discussion about DeChambeau’s snack pack which Bobby Fairways perused.

More than anything, it was consistently entertaining. And in a year where he dominated the YouTube golf space, it only makes sense that DeChambeau should have the top video.

I could have included a lot of other videos from Bryson’s wildly popular Breaking 50 series, but it made more sense to spread out the wealth with different formats.

So those are my top 10 favorite YouTube golf videos of 2024. What is on your list?

Some of the most memorable of the year for me were Peter Finch’s two videos at Lofoten Links. I’d never even heard of the place, and now I want to go to Norway.

You seem to enjoy mostly trash reality YouTube golf.
My preferences run toward serious instruction-Milo Lines, Be Better Golf, and Short game Chef as well as 2nd Swing and Club Champion equipment reviews and comparisons.

Trump Bryson may be the best youtube video of the year. It put youtube golf on the map. Political bias has no place in this game or in your “honest reviews”.

“The Best”? Hardly. Your favorites? Certainly? As such, biased? Without a doubt.

3 from Bryson, but not Breaking 50 with Trump? Or even his hole in one over his house challenge?

None from Fitch? None from the Bryan Bros, and their excellent Skins game?

Are you even aware of St. Andres Golf?

I’m sure a few of your favorites would make a best of list. But this is not even close to the top 10 best.

Soy boy that wrote the article. Everyone knows that’s #1. The fact that he left it off cause the list to lose all credibility.

I have recently delved into the world of Bob Does Sports and have enjoyed every minute of what they have produced. Alongside Brysen was just a bonus for me, combining my favorite 2 creators for the year. Things are looking bright outside of just golf instruction on the Tube and fits in well for those weekends I do not get to play and hang with the crew.
