Head To Head: Titleist T100 Versus Wilson Staff Model CB

Titleist’s T100 iron has long been a favorite in PGA Tour bags and among serious amateurs. It’s sleek, consistent and carries the prestige of one of golf’s most trusted brands. The Wilson Staff Model CB? It’s more under the radar. Which is the better choice for you? We ran them through MyGolfSpy’s 2025 Player’s head-to-head comparison to find out.

Distance

Neither iron is designed to chase distance but Wilson pulls ahead here. The Staff CB ranked just outside the top 10 in total distance and offered carry numbers that outpaced several better-known models.

The T100, while precise, lagged behind in total yardage. If you’re worried about losing distance when switching to player’s irons, the T100 won’t be the best choice.

Forgiveness

We look at forgiveness as the consistency of an iron in its performance. The Wilson Staff CB and the Titleist T100 are nearly identical in forgiveness. Both irons perform well on off-center strikes but Titleist earns a slight edge. It managed to produce more consistent ball speeds and tighter dispersions across the set.

Still, the Wilson has strong forgiveness capability.

Accuracy

Once again, we’re splitting hairs. Both irons offer strong accuracy metrics and both earned top-half placements in this category.

But the T100’s consistency across the long, mid and short irons gives it the nod. If you’re chasing tighter proximity to the pin, Titleist gets the win, barely.

Price and Value

Here’s one of the bigger differences between these two irons. The Titleist is about $200 more than the Wilson Staff for a set of 4-PW. If you’re a value-driven shopper, Wilson makes a strong case.

Final verdict

The Titleist T100 remains a solid all-around performer. With Tour-proven shaping and above-average forgiveness, it appeals to golfers who value tradition, precision and brand trust.

The Wilson Staff Model CB, however, kept up with Titleist in forgiveness and accuracy while delivering more distance and better value.

Got a set of T150’s this year. I love them. However, I keep going back to my Wilson Staff V6’s and am amazed at how well they perform and how much softer they still feel in comparison. So, no, Titleist did not kick Wilson out of my bag. Now I just have two bags.

Moose384 is correct. My last two sets have been Wilson’s. They are easier to hit and cheaper than the other brands. I went to one fitting *knowing* I was going to buy Ping or Cobra, but grabbed the Wilson’s because they were nearby. I told the Pro “There is something wrong here, I like these clubs more, and they hit better”. He said most people who try Wilson say that.

Wilson definitely flies under the radar. My experience is that they are on par with any of the major brands and much more cost effective. My CB’s look good, sound good and very accurate. The clubs are better that me I’m afraid.

When you score each category, is it a universal scoring metric or relative to the type of club? For example, can the forgiveness score of these irons compare to the forgiveness score of some PD or GI irons?

I think items are based on the products tested in the category that year. Which means the results don’t carry over to other categories. They don’t even compare to the same category from another year’s test.

I am still gaming my Wilson Staff Tour V6. Simply put, they have a Buttery Smooth feel and distance wise, they go toe-to-toe with the the T150s. One of Wilson’s best clubs made.
