PING Golf Bags: Six of the Best Models To Consider

We tested dozens of golf bags in 2023 and PING managed to capture the best stand bag and the best cart bag of 2023. We already knew PING had some impressive clubs but the golf bag lineup may stand out even more for 2023.

PING Hoofer

Ping Hoofer Golf bag

The PING Hoofer is the best stand bag of 2023, according to our testing. With pockets that have a purpose and functionality that every golfer can benefit from, the PING Hoofer will be a bag you never want to give up.

PING offers a variety of color options and patterns for the Hoofer.

The stand system works well, even when dealing with slippery or uneven surfaces. The PING Hoofer is not the lightest stand bag on the market but it’s the best.

PING Hoofer Lite

Ping Hoofer Lite

If you are one of those golfers with three dozen balls in the bottom of your bag, the PING Hoofer Lite could save your back.

The Hoofer Lite is very similar to the Hoofer. It’s just lighter.

If you like to walk and carry your bag, the Hoofer Lite is a great solution.

PING Hoofer Lite took second place in our best golf bag testing. The only thing keePING it from first is a bit less storage than the standard Hoofer.

Less storage isn’t always a bad thing as it keeps the weight down. So clean out your current bag and transfer the things that matter to the Hoofer Lite.

PING Hoofer 14

Ping Hoofer 14 Golf Bag

Sometimes you have to give up having a 14-way divider in a stand bag. Not with the PING Hoofer 14. The PING Hoofer 14 is a little heavier than the standard Hoofer but it has a lot of protection for all 14 of your clubs.

The way they designed the 14-way divider makes it just a little harder to get clubs in and out, but certainly not difficult. Even though this bag is a little heavier, it’s stable and perfectly walkable

PING DLX

Ping DLX Cart Golf Bag

The PING DLX won the top spot for the best cart bag of 2023. This cart bag has pretty much everything you could ever need, including a hidden shoe pocket and plenty of deep pockets.

All of the zippers are easy to work with and the dividers (14 of them) are spacious. If you have large grips, the PING DLX will easily accommodate your clubs. The only thing to remember here is that the bag weighs eight pounds, a little heavier load if you are walking the course.

PING Pioneer

Ping Pioneer Golf bag

If the PING DLX is larger than you need, look at the PING Pioneer

Our favorite thing about this bag is the easy-to-access magnetic rangefinder pocket but there is much more to offer.

The dividers are great. You will find plenty of storage for your gear and a large insulated pocket with a built-in drain. With the dividers being just a little smaller and having some excess material, we noticed a pull or two when removing clubs.

PING Traverse

Ping Traverse Golf Bag

The lightweight PING Traverse can be a good choice when you feel conflicted between choosing a cart or stand bag. The Traverse weighs 5.9 pounds. Even with this lower weight, there are still 14 dividers and 13 pockets, so we can’t call this a small golf bag.

The PING Traverse took third place overall in our best stand bag testing.

PING used the Cart Strap Pass-Through System on the Traverse, making this one a great choice for waking the golf course with a push cart. The Traverse gives you many benefits of a stand bag without making it difficult to get in and out of your car.

What To Look For in the Best PING Golf Bags

PING offers a golf bag for all players. If you are having difficulty deciding which is best for you, here are a few of the most important things to consider.

  • Dividers: Stand bags traditionally have fewer than 14 dividers to help keep the total weight down. The PING Hoofer 14, PING DLX, Traverse and Pioneer are good choices if you want a golf bag that keeps your clubs separate and protected.
  • Number of Pockets: In addition to the number of pockets, look at the pocket types. PING has all the basics like golf ball and valuables pockets but there are some unique ones like drink and even shoe pockets as well.
  • Walkability: Consider how often you are going to walk the golf course. The lightweight cart (Traverse) or any of the stand bags are your better choice.
  • Weight: Generally, the more pockets and space you add, the more the golf bag is going to weigh. Even if you don’t walk, consider the weight of getting the clubs in and out of the car.
  • Features: PING makes golf bags from the perspective of what works for golfers. If you like unique and intuitive features, the more premium PING DLX is a great option.
