Best driver for distance 2025

The Titleist GT2 claimed the top spot for distance in MyGolfSpy’s 2025 driver test, producing the highest ball speeds and total yardage across multiple swing speeds. It delivered a strong balance of launch and spin that helped maximize carry without sacrificing control. The Titleist GT4 finished close behind, offering a slightly lower launch and spin profile that favored faster swingers looking to squeeze out a few extra yards off the tee.

Best mini driver for distance 2025

The TaylorMade R7 Quad mini driver emerged as the longest mini driver in 2025 testing, producing the highest carry and total yardage of the field while still delivering the playability of a smaller-head option. The PXG Secret Weapon mini driver followed closely as the runner-up, earning strong praise for its turf-play versatility and powerful launch.

Best fairway wood for distance 2025

The TaylorMade Qi35 led the 2025 fairway wood test for distance, combining explosive ball speed with a powerful mid to high launch that carried deep. Its clean look and consistent flight made it a favorite among testers looking for distance and playability off the deck or tee. The Callaway Elyte finished as the runner-up, producing nearly identical total yardage but with a slightly higher flight and softer landing.

Best hybrid for distance 2025

The TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid topped the 2025 hybrid distance charts, delivering exceptional ball speed and a strong, penetrating flight that held its line even in tougher conditions. Testers noted how easy it was to launch from a variety of lies without losing distance. The Callaway Elyte X Hybrid followed closely behind, producing comparable yardage with a slightly higher launch and spin profile that offered better stopping power on long approaches.

Best driving iron for distance 2025

The Titleist U•505 led the 2025 utility iron test for distance, blending a hot, forgiving face with the solid feel of a traditional long iron. It launched high enough to hold greens yet maintained the penetrating flight that better players prefer off the tee. The PING iDi finished just behind, producing nearly the same total distance with a slightly lower launch and firmer roll-out.

Best player’s irons for distance

The Vice VGI01 earned the top spot for distance among player’s irons in 2025, delivering surprising ball speed and strong carry numbers. Its consistent launch and hot face design helped it stand out in a typically control-focused category. The COBRA 3DP Tour finished close behind, offering nearly identical yardage with a more traditional trajectory and slightly softer feel at impact.

Best player’s distance irons for distance

The Mizuno JPX 925 Hot Metal Pro led the 2025 player’s distance iron test, combining Mizuno’s signature feel with outstanding ball speed and carry distance across the set. It launched high with a penetrating flight that held its distance even on off-center strikes. The Callaway Apex Ai200 followed closely, matching much of the Mizuno’s power but producing a slightly higher spin rate.

Best game-improvement irons for distance 2025

The PXG 0311XP GEN7 topped the 2025 game-improvement iron category for distance, delivering explosive ball speeds and consistent launch across the face. Testers praised its ability to turn average contact into above-average carry. The Callaway Elyte finished just behind, producing a similar total distance with a higher-launching flight.

Best super game-improvement irons 2025

The Callaway Elyte X claimed the top spot for distance in the 2025 super game-improvement category, producing towering ball flights and exceptional carry for golfers who need help getting the ball airborne. Its wide sole and low center of gravity made it especially effective on mishits. The COBRA DS-Adapt earned the runner-up position, generating nearly the same yardage with a slightly lower, more penetrating trajectory.

Golfers obsession with distance is the major reason they don’t improve.

You want more distance? go and get lessons, improve your technique and stop trying to buy distance because in reality, you can’t.

Golf is about the score, not how far you hit it. Lower scores come from better technique, and distance is only a small part of that. 5 or 10 yards gained in distance isn’t going to help you more than improving your , short irons, short game, bunker play or putting by 5-10%

Fair but if you can keep your distance it’s easier coming into a green with a short iron vs a 6 iron.
I’ve lost 20 mph of club speed in the last 15 years partially due to an accident but now age. I still play to a 2 but being a short hitter now makes the game tougher.
