When it comes to golf equipment, you’ll often hear the saying ‘you get what you pay for.’ However, not every golfer can afford to splurge on the top-of-the-line club in every category. If your game needs a tune-up but you want to be smart about your purchases, these are the best value golf clubs of 2024. While they may not have been the top performers in every test, their performance more than justifies their price.
Best Value Driver: Kirkland Signature

Who Is It For?
✅ You want a good deal: With a price of just $199, the Kirkland Signature is high-performing and fairly priced.
✅ You want a mix of performance: The distance, accuracy, and forgiveness rankings for the Kirkland Signature were all about the same across the board.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ You want pure distance: This driver is about seven yards shorter on average than the longest driver of 2024.
❌ You’re looking for a modern-looking club head: Several testers called the Kirkland Signature clubhead nostalgic.
Why Buy
The Kirkland Signature Driver finished just below the middle of the pack for the 2024 testing. We tested 37 drivers, and most don’t come near the $199 price tag that the Kirkland has.
Overall, the Kirkland Signature scored 7.2 for distance and accuracy and 7.6 for forgiveness. It performs well and has a look that testers described as “an old Titleist head.”
The overall distance from the Kirkland Signature was about 7 yards less than the top drivers. However, it’s $350 cheaper, so that’s something to keep in mind. Although it’s not a fit for every player, the Kirkland Signature is the best value in the 2024 test.
Others drivers to consider:
- Best for distance: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max D
- Best for accuracy: PING G430 MAX 10K
- Best for forgiveness: PXG 0311 XF GEN6
Score: 7.6
Best Value Fairway Wood: Wilson Dynapower

Who Is It For?
✅ You need accuracy: The Wilson Dynapower is the second most accurate fairway wood in the test.
✅ You want distance: With a 7th place finish for distance the Dynapower finishes in the top 25%.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ You need more forgiveness: Ranks 17th for forgiveness, not a great choice for inconsistent players.
❌ You are a high handicapper: Testing feedback showed that the Wilson Dynapower is a better fit for better players looking for improved ball speed.
Why Buy
If you are concerned about purchasing clubs known for value and giving up performance, you won’t have to be with the Wilson Dynapower. We went back to our 2023 testing for this, where the average cost of a fairway wood in the test was $325.
The Wilson Dynapower is $199.
With this fairway wood, you’ll find very strong accuracy. It finished second place and had impressive strokes gained performance. In addition, the ball speed numbers and overall distance from the Wilson Dynapower were a good fit for golfers looking for a few extra yards.
The only issue here is the forgiveness. As great as the performance is, it’s not the most consistent in the test, so make sure to get fitted.
Other fairway woods to consider:
- Best for accuracy: Titleist TSR1
- Best for distance: TaylorMade Stealth 2
- Best for forgiveness: PXG 0311 XF Gen6
Score: 9.7
Best Value Hybrid: Mizuno ST-MAX 230

Who Is It For?
✅ You need forgivness: The 2nd best hybrid for forgiveness in 2024.
✅ You like accuracy: With a top 5 finish for accuracy the Mizuno is a highly accurate hybrid.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ You prioritize distance: It’s not the longest of the bunch
Why Buy
Mizuno ST-Max 230 is marketed as a more forgiving hybrid. It lives up to this claim by finishing second overall in our forgiveness scoring category. In our testing, measuring forgiveness takes into account four specific golf ball metrics: ball speed, carry distance, backspin, dispersion. This performance, alongside its accuracy performance, propels it to fifth place overall in our 2024 Most Wanted Hybrid test. If you’re looking for a consistent and reliable hybrid, ST-Max 230 is worth checking out.
Other hybrids to consider:
- Best for distance: TaylorMade Stealth 2

✅ You want to hit more greens: The best game improvement iron for accuracy. If you want to hit more greens you’ll be able to with these.
✅ You want playable shot outcomes: If you want ball speed, carry distance, dispersion and backspin you can trust you’ll get it with the MacGregor MACSPD.
Who Is It Not For?
❌ You need maximum distance: The shortest game improvement iron of 2024, if you struggle with distance the MACSPD is not going to help you.
Why Buy
In our testing, accuracy is the most important thing a golfer can look for in a set of irons. The MacGregor MACSPD is the most accurate of all the game improvement irons, with an accuracy rating of 8.6. It is also the runner-up for forgiveness.
We measure forgiveness in the ability to hit consistent shots, and you can absolutely do that with the MACSPD from MacGregor. However, there is a catch. This is also the shortest iron of the 2024 test.
In the end, you’ll have to decide if accuracy or distance is more important to you. At $499, the MACSPD is still a great deal.

❌ You need accuracy: Ranks below average for accuracy.
Why Buy
If you saw our guide on the most forgiving combo set of 2024, you likely learned a bit about these Sub 70 TAIII wedges. Not only is it the best value wedge of 2023, but it is also the most forgiving wedge of 2023.
The Sub 70 TAII is very consistent. It may not be the top wedge for accuracy, but with the $125 cost of the Sub 70, we can let some of that accuracy slide.
In some cases, when you look at best-value golf clubs, you have to let some performance go. When testing the Sub 70 TIII wedge, we found that you won’t sacrifice much. Instead, you may be pleasantly surprised with the performance offered.
Other wedges to consider:
- TaylorMade Milled Grind 4
- TaylorMade Hi Toe 3
- COBRA Snakebite
Score: 9.8
Golf Ball
While you are saving all this money on the best value golf clubs, you may as well save a few dollars on golf balls. When we did our ball testing in 2023, we picked out two golf balls that offered impressive performance at the price. These include the Kirkland Performance+ V3 and the OnCore ELIXR.
The Kirkland Performance+ V3 is a cheap urethane ball with great greenside control and spin. The OnCore ELIXR is a little more expensive but still under $30 a dozen. This one offers mid-spin rates throughout the bag. It’s not the longest golf ball, but it offers a balanced performance.
