BEST GOLF DRIVERS FOR HIGH SWING SPEEDS

OUR JOB IS YOUR GAME

With fall approaching, golf season is still in full swing. Speaking of “swing,” we all swing at different speeds and that means no one driver is right for all of us.

If you swing at 105 mph or greater, these are the best golf drivers for you. Let’s take a look.

MOST WANTED SCORING

We have reformulated our 2022 Most Wanted results to a 100-point scoring system. This new system better identifies golf clubs to potentially help you shoot lower scores.

For drivers, we’ve split our key metrics into four categories: accuracy, forgiveness, distance and Strokes Gained. Each category is weighted through proprietary methodologies.

Data was collected using Foresight GCQuad Launch monitors. To minimize variables, all testers hit Titleist Pro V1 golf balls. Outliers were removed and data was aggregated before scores were calculated.

BEST DRIVERS FOR HIGH SWING SPEEDS

1. PING G425 MAX

PING G425 Max Driver

PING G425 Max may not have been the longest driver for high swing speeds but it excels in accuracy and forgiveness. Having confidence in your driver is a key ingredient to success. Consistency and accuracy are two exceptional traits in a driver and can lead to better dispersion. What is there not to like?

Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS Driver

Ranking fourth is Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS. This driver blends distance with accuracy which makes it an appealing driver for high swing speed golfers. With its more fade-biased design and low-spinning characteristic, it has the potential to benefit higher-spinning golfers.

5. COBRA KING LTDx MAX

Cobra KING LTDx Max Driver

Rounding out the top five drivers for high swing speeds is COBRA KING LTDx Max. Despite being a higher MOI driver, LTDx Max packs a punch with distance and accuracy for high swing speed golfers. It offers adjustable weighting and loft settings which can help get you dialed in perfectly.

BOTTOM LINE

The goal of every golfer is lower scores. Through extensive testing and data-driven methodologies, we’ve been able to provide golfers with more thorough performance analyses to help them make better purchases. If your driver swing speed is greater than 105 mph, these are the best-performing drivers for this swing speed category.

This doesn’t necessarily mean one of these five will work for the majority of golfers. However, they all offer adjustable hosels that allow for more precision. This adjustability can enhance distance and forgiveness, generate optimal spin rates, create low or high launch conditions or allow for high MOI (moment of inertia).

Regardless of your choice, we strongly recommend going through a professional fitting. Getting the proper combination of driver head, loft and shaft is a game changer.

      Hello,

I enjoy very much reding your articles, tests & reviews..

Could you extend series like drivers for various swing speeds to some female swing speeds, by running a similar test series on typical Lady models in the like of Kaleas, REVAs, Cobra Lady LTDX, Stealth women driver , G Le 2 driver, and others.

Keep on writing great articles & all the best!

Which driver was 1# in strokes gained?

I realize that timing is everything but it would have been nice to have the TSr Titleist driver in the test instead of the already discontinued TSi.

I’d love to see some testing around the driver shafts vs. distance. Huge topic since there are so many variables contributing to distance. and shaft selection is a very personal thing best addressed by a qualified fitter.

Would be great to see actual launch monitor data on each versus just a score. Having just scores doesn’t tell the whole picture. What IS the distance? What IS the dispersion? What IS the spin from each driver? What IS the launch angle. Etc.

Interesting. I am sorry, but I am skeptical of these results.

The Ping is fine as long as you’re ok with attaching an empty metal trash can to the end of a graphite shaft.

If I attached my wife’s hair curler to the end of a graphite shift & it gave me long, straight tee shots, I couldn’t care less what anyone would think or say..

Appreciate and respect your review. As you stated, different drivers suit different swing speeds. Are you able to give a graph of optimal launch spin and launch angle for swing speeds from 80 through 110 mph? This would help a lot when trying out new drivers using data from a launch monitor. Thanks
