Top 3 Hybrids For Distance In 2025

Hybrids are known for being forgiving but we’d be kidding ourselves if we said distance is not a factor. These clubs are designed to launch high, carry far and give players a reliable option at the top of the bag when long irons fall short.

Based on results from our 2025 Hybrid Test, here are the three longest models of the year: the TaylorMade Qi35, Callaway Elyte X and COBRA King Tec.

TaylorMade Qi35

The TaylorMade Qi35 ranked as the longest hybrid in MyGolfSpy’s 2025 testing, posting an average carry of 184.4 yards and a total distance of 199.0 yards. That’s nearly 15 yards longer than the shortest hybrids in the field.

What sets the Qi35 apart is raw speed. With the highest average ball speed (120.85 mph) of any model tested, it delivers a penetrating flight and strong rollout numbers. However, testers also noted trade-offs. Its forgiveness score (8.0/10) was the lowest in the test and accuracy lagged behind more stable options.

Buy this if:

✅ You want the longest hybrid of 2025.
✅ Ball speed and carry distance are your top priorities.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ Accuracy and forgiveness matter more to your game than raw distance.

Callaway Elyte X

The Callaway Elyte X finished just behind the Qi35 in total distance, averaging 181.2 yards of carry and 194.9 yards total.

Its 8.8/10 distance score matched the TaylorMade but it had a stronger showing in accuracy (8.9/10).

Where the Elyte X stands out is in its balance of length and precision. Testers found it combined strong ball speeds (120.21 mph on average) with dependable dispersion. The trade-off comes in forgiveness (8.4/10), where consistency across mishits was weaker than that of other top options.

Buy this if:

✅ You want one of the longest hybrids in 2025 without giving up accuracy.
✅ You’re looking for a strong all-around performer with distance as a key strength.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ Consistency on off-center strikes is your top priority.

COBRA King Tec

The COBRA King Tec rounded out our top three for distance, averaging 180.9 yards of carry and 194.8 yards total in 2025 testing.

Importantly, the King Tec wasn’t just long. It also finished with a strong 8.6 overall MGS Score, ranking inside the top 10 hybrids tested. Testers found it paired solid length with dependable accuracy (8.7/10). Similar to the other longest hybrids of 2025, forgiveness (8.3/10) held it back slightly.

Still, it’s a standout option for golfers who want a hybrid that produces distance without giving up too much in other categories.

Buy this if:

✅ You want a long hybrid that also scored well overall in testing.
✅ Accuracy and distance together matter more than maximum forgiveness.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You’re looking for the most consistent hybrid on mishits.

Question: why does it say top 3 hybrids, and then the Tommy Armour 845+ irons at the top?
