I went to Kirkland Signature. And I find them very similar to ProV1s . Great spin and distance . Don’t buy another dozen ProVs until you at least play with Kirklands . You will be shocked at how well they perform!

What about the disastrous results from the ball lab? Hard to get around that.

Most found here: proV1/x, Kirkland, supersoft, lower tier Titleists.

Found reasonably often: Pinnacle, Nitro, TM

Rarely: vice ( though becoming more common), top flite, srixon, maxfli

I agree with pro V1 being the most found. I have a bag of over 40 pro v1 and 1x that I have found. I will play them but I actually like vice pro Plus and vice pro soft. Those suit my game better than the pro v1.

Well as far as i know the most underrated golf ball is the WILSON STAFF X, it is a great ball to play with, i put it up with the ProV1’s of the world but for lesser cost, I play with these ( i’m 64 yrs old and have a 5 hcp ) and my son plays with the TRIAD which i was happy to see in your list. Anyway it seems that everybody snubs WILSON as a brand to reckon with playing, be it clubs or balls… keep an eye on WILSON they are slowly creeping back into the game…. their weakness as of today still is their drivers, the rest is good. also if they had the marketing $$$ of the big three’s they could advertise the crap out of their products and lastly unlike other brands they don’t come out with a product every week ;-) that i like alot!

I agree. I just purchased the dynapower irons, just incredible ball speed and distance over my pings. I love Wilson golf balls, the feel and longer than pro v1

Surprised that Callaway Supersoft wasn’t on the list. I think that’s the ball that I find the most.

It’s the much sought after Nitro where I play. No shortage of Kirklands either.

My foursome definitely finds Top Flite XLs the most, far and away. My course is only about two miles from a Golf Galaxy and three miles from a Dicks, so it’s a proximity and budget thing, as my home course is a modestly priced, but nice municipal course. Interestingly, just about every other ball is about tied for second place in the found ball ranking. It’s quite a variety of makes and models.

Agreed… at the higher end, there are golfers with preferences, but my big retailer told me without a doubt, the supersofts are the biggest 2 piece/lower priced ball they sell.

On my course – the number one ball found – is no doubt Supersoft. Close second would be Pro V1/V1X. I leave the Callaways where they are – but I have probably 50 Pro Vs in a bag in my truck that were just laying around for the picking ….

I use the found Titleists for T shots over water.

I didn’t expect it to be on a popularity list, but the Z-Star Diamond is a heck of a golf ball. It fits into a performance slot that few others replicate. It’s a ball that Titleist should be trying to match with a Pro V1 variant. Just one man’s opinion.

Z-S Diamond is THE most underrated ball on the market. I load up in June and December.

Prov1 for me. Have stayed with that ball for years. Played the Taylormade and Callaway prior to that. Had my first HIO with a Cally. Had three more HIOs with Prov1s. Always stock up in the spring when they have their loyalty program, buy 4, pay for three.

MGS readers are a small percentage of golfers. Maxfli sells a ton of balls thru Dicks and Golf Galaxy.

To be fair, there are at least three entries for Vice Pro Plus. Regardless of the paint scheme, its still the same ball.

I’m shocked that the Kirkland Signature didn’t make the list.

I know that it gets a lot of criticism, but it is a popular ball. I know I find a lot of them.

I’m over in Hawaii,Big Island, I play a tight public course. Also work there. Kirkland, Callaway Super Soft, and Srixon Soft Feel are the 3 brands I find the most of. Also a brand called Nitro. Never heard of it. Feels like a rock.

I have a few Nitro balls in the bag. Terrible feel, for sure. The ones I find also have a weird shiny coating on them.

I use those in scrambles when I’m going to do something stupid.

Gotta tell you, that Vice ball “drip” is one ugly ball-I’ve found a few. And that shade is pretty unusual too. The regular Vice is nice. That Srixon dual color is also unique to play. I prefer just white or yellow tho.

I do like the novelty of the Drip and I’ve found the Pro to be a good ball for my game. At the same time, I’ve found that the Drip pattern became distracting for me the more I played it.

I do appreciate that they offer something unique, though.

Interesting. I don’t see Maxfli in the list. I’m quite sure it should be a part of this list, so it’s a little suspect to me. I do love seeing all the Vice on there and less of the big brands.

Jason, I’ve been playing the Maxfli Tour 3 years now. Great ball, my go to ball. In 3 years I don’t think I’ve ever found a lost Maxfli Tour unless it was one of mine that I lost the day before….lol….So I think we’re in a special club.

I’m sure if it were based on sales by store it would be. Since Dicks and Golf Galaxy are limited compared to Walmart, Target, and the local golf courses, you’re not going to find any ball that’s limited in availability in the top ten.

It’s funny, we have two DSG’s close by, along with several courses, and I have only found an old Maxfli distance ball. Time to buy a box.

      HikingMike

Yeah I kind of wish I found more Maxflis. I barely find those. DSG is kind of far though, but one is being built close by now. I want to try them out more :) I’ll probably buy some at some point though.
