First Look: 2018 adidas TOUR360 Golf Shoe
“Our quest to create the perfect golf shoe just got one step closer with this new TOUR360.” –  Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf.

adidas TOUR360-111

Dustin Johnson’s latest new shoe is heading to retail.

I don’t want to bog you down too much with the technical details, so your big takeaway from this should be that adidas has announced a new version of its flagship TOUR360 shoe, and as you’d expect, it’s ripe with what the company calls subtle, yet significant changes.

adidas TOUR360-104

Those updates include:

New Outsole Top Plate – Wraps higher on the lateral side of the foot while still providing stability.

SPRINTSKIN Technology – ultra-lightweight microfiber that provides support and stability in the upper section of the shoe, as golfers move laterally.

Classic Toe-Down Appearance – Leather upper creates a classic distraction-free look. Not to get too far off-track here, but if you find yourself distracted by your shoes, golf might not be for you. Visual benefits aside, the updated design saves weight and increases comfort.

New Premium Heel – creating a more classic shape, the new design keeps golfers locked-in during the swing, and further increases comfort while improving durability.

Increased Outsole Flexibility – a more pliable TPU outsole increases comfort while reducing fatigue.

adidas TOUR360-110

There’s a handful of other features, including a 10-cleat puremotion TPU outsole, but ultimately the entirely of the list boils down to a new shoe that adidas says is more stable and more comfortable than the previous version.

As with that previous model, Tour360 leverages adidas BOOST material in the midsole. That material has been the source of complaints, perhaps the only consistent complaint, with the recent run of adidas golf shoes. On the plus side, most say it helps make for an insanely comfortable shoe, but it also has a reputation for soiling easily and being impossible to clean. We’ll see how it goes, but we don’t have any reason to suspect that’s going to change with this release, and so it’s likely an it is what it is situation.

adidas TOUR360-108

Pricing, Availability, and Colorways

Beginning in early October, the TOUR360 will be available in 3 colorways (white/black, black/white, and white/Icey Blue. Look for additional colorways and styles (BOA, anybody?) to launch in early 2018.

As is standard for adidas, the TOUR360 comes with a 2-Year waterproof guarantee.

Retail price for the TOUR360 is $200.

Love the feel and look of the current model. But as noted above less than 2 seasons and wearing holes in the heels. Sent a warranty request to Adidas and they are replacing 2 pairs at no cost to me with the new 2018 version of my choice.

I am, according to my wife, a bit of a shoe diva as I have several pairs. I play 100 rounds a year and who wants to wear the same shoes every round. Here in Tennessee the ground is muddy (ish) as the Bermuda goes dormant in October and shows back in May / June. That’s quite an ugly show in about 2 months or less. ( I have now have adopted the 1 pair of shoes method for crappy weather to extend the life of the others )

90 percent of the shoes are the 360’s and they are the most stable and most comfortable I have ever worn. I walk 80 percent of the time and I may be a little bushed at the end of 18 hilly holes, but the feet are ready for 18 more.

I usually snap them up for 99 – 159 bucks ( when on sale / clearance ) and for that price how can you not? After a lifetime of FootJoy these last two years have been perfect ( feet wise ).

I gave up on the golf shoe specific footwear as it made my feet feel worse, compared to a good trail runner. I use Adidas trail runners on dry days, but if Keen footwear ever design a golf shoe, I will be all over those. On wet days. I wear my keen trail runners, and my feet feel awesome. I wear a steeelntoe version at work, and for the last 2 years I have not had one problem with my feet.

Golf shoes have to be changed yearly. Sweat will work the inside, wetness and mud the outside, so they basically create an ecosystem that is not good for your feet. Like in any other sport. If you think $50-$200 is a lot of money to invest yearly in your feet, buy a pair of sandals and take surfing instead of golf

Due to bad feet that got progressively worse over the past decade I was unable to walk 18. Nearing retirement and wanting to play golf (it’s a walking sport for me) I decided to have foot surgery. Post surgery my foot geometry changed and although the recovery was slow I could walk 18 holes but not without some pain. At my wifes prompting I bought the 360’s due to the wide style with a slightly larger toe box. I have played more than 100 rounds since (mostly walking) and my feet have never been better. These shoes were truly miraculous for me, so much so that I bought another pair for when these give out.

Finding the right shoes for you is all about the shape of your foot, which varies greatly among different people. It needs to conform to the shape of the last, which is the 3-D form on which a shoe is constructed.

Some people need more width in the front of the shoe, which is also called the toe box (especially is there is a bunion). Some have narrow heels and need a tighter fit in that area. Some need more (or less) arch support. Older feet have different characteristics than younger.

An expensive, high-end golf shoe could fit one golfer perfectly but be unwearable for another. The goal is to become aware of the shape of your foot and evaluate the golf shoe to see if it has those features. Some companies have a pattern of making shoes that are designed to fit a certain type of foot shape. For example, I can mail order buy Asics tennis shoes with virtual assurance that they will fit me perfectly.

Good maybe, perfect no. Look at the toe box and look at the human foot. The big toe is not in the middle of the foot and most shoe made today, except most sandals, compress the end of the foot which can create bunions, hammer toes, soft corns. otherwise know as a recipe for pain. These appear to have the same potential.

surely they know by now that everyone hates how the white boost material gets way too dirty and is tough to clean. Make it black and save us all a lot of anguish.

Have had 2 pair of 360s in the last 5 years. Love the comfort, but heels have worn through on both pair and I only play 35-40 rounds/year and generally always take a cart. Wrote to Adidas re issue & never got any help at all. Back to FJ or Ecco.

Previous years tour360 I have said over and over again the best golf shoe out there**. If this is an improvement on that..GREAT.

I’m sure the boa version will be out by the ’18 Masters

Adidas Tour360 are not for everyone, out of the box comfort, support & the last is unique. As is higher end Ecco models and of course Footjoy. These $200 plus dollar model shoes by the big 3 can NOT be compared to the junk Nike is a calling a golf shoes- its embarrassing.

Adidas and the whole boost range are no doubt the most returned shoe on the market due to very poor wairing in the achilles heel. The perfect shoe needs to be a huge improvment on previous versions as far as quality goes….

Boost material on two pair stays dirty and impossible to clean a turn off for me. Salesman told me when shoes are new spray with waterproof spray. Too late for me but may help someone. Went to Ecco BOA love them

Last years model left my feet in pain by the 10 hole and I ended up playing in my comfortable DC skateboarding shoes for the rest of the match. Its still a good shoe though, but not meant for walking a course.

Last model, initially, was superb. BUT, 2 summers wear has resulted in split sole, shredded inners and are now unwearable. Fingers crossed these great looking shoes can last more than 2 seasons.

Complaint from myself on last years model: heel slippage and break in time. Nice looking golf shoe that is ok for cart golf but I wouldn’t walk 18 in.
