Adams Golf – What Comes To Mind?
What do you think of when the name Adams Golf comes to mind?
Most golfers would say either Tight Lies or Hybrids. Well if you’re a regular reader of MyGolfSpy those thoughts have probably changed over the past couple years. That’s because we have probably shown more concepts, prototypes and new releases from Adams Golf then any other brand. And almost every one of these spy pics we show of their new drivers and irons seem to be very well received. And today I don’t think will be much different. Long gone are the days of upside down fairway wood designs…today Adams seems to be more focused on putting out product that not only looks good but plays great as well. In 2010 their 9064LS was the “Overall #1 Driver” we tested. Not too bad coming from a company previously known for making hybrids.
Adams (Blade-On-Blade Design)
Now many of you might be thinking…man….it seems like I have seen a design similar to this before. And you would be right…what you are probably thinking of is the Hogan Apex Blades. We actually covered that iron last year in an article written by the man who had a part in designing the 1999 Hogan Apex Blades, Jeff Sheets. There are quite a few differences in the two designs but one of the common themes is what Jeff called the Blade-On-Blade design (view image).
Blade-On-Blade Design:
“Another Hogan design attribute is the blade-on-blade geometry. I honestly don’t know if this was Hogan’s name for the design but it became an element I clued in on when studying his work. This feature provided a thicker mass behind the face while keeping the center of gravity more heel-ward for easier workability. It also enabled a longer blade length without forcing the center of gravity further away from the shaft axis.”
Your Thoughts?
Have your voice be heard…let the guys and gals over at Adams Golf know what you think about the new Adams MB2 iron design. So what do you think…are these are (Hot or Not)?

Pity they ruined it with that massive IDEA stamp on the back.
