adidas, Metalwood Are Bringing Y2K Fashion Back

If you haven’t noticed, adidas Golf is currently in its absolute bag.

From the Samba OG to the recent flux of streetwear-heavy drops, the Three Stripes brand has been leaning hard into the “look good, play OK” lifestyle. Their latest move? A limited capsule collaboration with Metalwood Studio that feels like a fever dream for anyone who grew up watching skate videos and World Cup football in the early 2000s.

It’s hard to describe what I’m feeling right now.

On one hand, the adidas Golf x Metalwood MC70 golf shoe has me feeling like a kid again. The football boot-inspired stitching and sleek silver upper hark back to adidas’ heritage and bring back my fond memories of chasing a black-and-white ball around a green field.

On the other hand, it has me feeling pretty old. Retro vibes, baggy fits and a reminder that I’ve got a kid of my own who will hopefully find joy in chasing a ball around on the grass (golf or football) sometime soon.

For those interested, you can shop the new (old) drop starting Thursday at Metalwood Studio and on Friday on the adidas CONFIRMED app , adidas.com and select retailers.

So many billowy shirts. Definitely looks like my high school days.

Adidas strikes again. What is old is new again. Definitely looks similar to my Fußball boots from 20+ years ago. I’d prefer they be in black, but I can live with the silver. I just might have to buy a pair for nostalgia. Being Adidas I know they will be excellent golf footwear. That said, I might just also have to buy some Truvis golf balls to complete the walk down memory lane! Mia san Mia.
