Ben Griffin Debuts Unreleased Maxfli Golf Ball

There’s a reason Ben Griffin has quietly earned the reputation as “the people’s champ.”

The guy had three wins last year, a Ryder Cup appearance, a top-10 world ranking and a $40 golf ball in play the entire time. So it’s hard to argue that a Maxfli ball isn’t good enough for your game.

This week, Griffin’s golf ball situation will change.

Griffin is putting a new Maxfli ball in play

Very little has been officially shared about the new Maxfli Tour X LS. What we do know is that it’s a subtle evolution rather than a wholesale change.

Early indications point to a slightly lower launch profile, reduced spin and a marginally softer feel compared to the standard Tour X. For a player who already produces plenty of speed and height, those tweaks make sense.

In firm or windy conditions like you often see at TPC Scottsdale this could be the perfect time to make the switch.

The rest of the bag

Griffin continuing as a Maxfli brand ambassador means he’ll have the Maxfli logo on his hat and golf bag but his golf ball partnership doesn’t dictate the rest of his setup.

As of early this season, Griffin’s setup looked like this:

The brand hasn’t changed. The belief didn’t either. The data will tell us the rest.

I have had good luck with the Maxfli TourX but would switch to his new version the next ball purchase. I love that his bag has almost exactly the same makeup as mine. Ping driver, Mizuno irons & wedges, spider putter. No 3 wood for me a ping 5 at 16.5 degrees vs his Taylormade.

Just bought the G440K – and now I”m with you guys!

Mizuno Irons/Wedges, PING Driver, Maxfli balls! I’ll hold onto the Mizzy 3-wood and my Lab putter.

Could the Maxfli Tour X LS be like the Chromesoft X LS prior to the move to Chrome Tour? Still my favorite ball of all time.

Make Tour X LS in yellow and I will definitely try it.

I personally think it will be much better than the old chromesoft and closer to a V1 left dash. The Tour X already gives me numbers between the V1x and the V1x LD

The Maxfli Tour balls are only $30/dozen when you buy the 48-pack ($120). Comes with free personalization too. I print my company’s info and hand out 3-packs to our customers.

Is this a “left dash” version of the Maxfli Tout ball? I’ll try it, but will likely stay with the Tour X – it’s great for my game.

Sometimes they discount the previous models to $99 for a 48 pack, as well. It’s a steal of a ball.

Around Black Friday, they were selling the old gen cubes for $75. Bought 2 and sent it to everyone I knew who might be interested. Not a single complaint I can make about the Maxfli Tour balls, and specifically the Tour X, which I play. So glad I got turned on to them.

He actually switched to qi4d 3 wood and M-13 3-4i. Looks like he has a qi4d 7 wood too that he can swap out for the 3i when needed. Wedges are all MG5 now too.

I’ve been playing Maxfli Tours for quite a while now and they are an excellent ball at a much more reasonable price.

I think people lose track of the fact that balls made outside the States removes jobs from our country. I would rather pay a few dollars more and keep the money and jobs here.

I suggest you look at the back of some boxes before making that statement. If you play Titleists that aren’t custom numbers they are likely from Indonesia. Callaway chromes are the only ones full made in the USA and if beyond that it is a dumb way to choose a ball

I tried the tour x first but it didn’t fit my swing speed so I tried the tour ball and love it. It’s my go to ball now.

Tell maxfli that there’s good market for them over in Europe so why not sell here ? We used to all play them back in pre millenium times !

It’s because they are a Dick’s Sporting Goods brand. I do agree that Dick’s would close to double their sales selling them outside the USA as well as their new forged irons that are quite nice for the price

I played the Tour X last year a few times. I don’t really lose balls but it spins so much I went through a box faster than I ever have before. If you spin left or right the X might not be for you. They boom, left and right just like they do straight. They are long off the tee though and they have great stopping power plus the feel on the putting green is great. I’m excited to try the regular Tour and their LS this year.

Sounds good to me. I’m going to be trying the Tour this year also. And I will gladly take the reduced left or right spin.

If you mean the one with the red dot in the A, I agree. More interesting and discernible than the enlarged X.

I love the Tour X, and I’m confident that this ball is going to be great as well. Whatever type of ball profile you are looking for, try Maxfli.
