Breaking Down Barriers: Rapsodo And TheStack System Speak The Same Language

Last week, I wrote about the challenges associated with golf’s evolving technology ecosystem.

The abridged version: We have a growing assortment of golf-specific digital devices and almost none of them can talk to each other. It’s like the United Nations without translators.

While the recently announced integration between The Stack System and Rapsodo MLM2PRO launch monitors doesn’t solve the entire problem, it’s a step in the right direction for golfers using the two devices in tandem.

You still can’t order DoorDash from your Stack app but at least it now receives real-time swing speed measurements from the MLM2PRO via Bluetooth. I won’t go so far as to call it a game-changer but it does make speed training a bit easier.

It sure beats the hell out of yelling swing speed measurements and hoping your 97 doesn’t become 87 somewhere along the way.

Best-in-class tools

I don’t have concrete data in front of me but I’d wager the Rapsodo MLM2PRO is one of the most popular launch monitors on the market. Chalk that up to the fact that it’s more accurate and less expensive than other launch monitors in its class.

While The Stack System is admittedly a bit more expensive than most swing speed training systems, it’s highly effective – and one of the few training aids that offers quantitative data as evidence of its effectiveness.

Those of us who have used it swear by it.

If you own both, you might need to grab the latest updates but, otherwise, that’s all there is to it.

Save (for a limited time)

If you’re thinking about picking up an MLM2PRO, The Stack System or both, now is good time.

The Rapsodo MLM2Pro is on sale for $699.99. That includes a sleeve of specially marked RPT (Rapsodo Precision Technology) balls and a 45-day Premium Trial membership.

For those ready to go all-in, you can grab TheStack + MLM2Pro Bundle for $799. I haven’t run the numbers myself but I’m told that’s $200 less than you’d pay buying separately.

While the Bluetooth connectivity is forever, the sale price isn’t.

The swing speed mode on the MLM2 is extremely slow. Really gets in the way of actually doing swing speed training when you have to stop and wait 10-20 seconds between each swing while it slowly loads and plays back a video of your swing (which you can’t turn off, and which it also insists on uploading to the cloud). Lots of little usability annoyances like that with the MLM2. Still great for the money, but could be incredible if they’d work on their software a little more.

Too many $ for a training bundle for the average recreational golfer: $799. No way.
