FootJoy’s Heater Continues with FJ by Aimé Leon Dore

I have no words. (JK, I have a lot …. as you’ll see down below).

Golf fashion is having a moment. I know, I know—that sounds like something your uncle would say while wearing plaid shorts and a polo tucked into his belt. But hear me out.

FootJoy just dropped a collab that’ll make you forget everything you thought you knew about golf shoes. They’ve teamed up with Aimé Leon Dore, the NYC streetwear brand that somehow makes $200 hoodies feel like essential wardrobe pieces.

Bang! Bang!

This isn’t your country club’s FootJoy. The Premiere Series Field LX gets the ALD treatment, and honestly? It’s about time someone thought outside the box.

Picture this: full-grain pebbled leather upper meets high-gloss black patent leather. It’s like late ’90s basketball culture crashed into a golf course and decided to stick around for 18 holes.

Street Cred Meets Course Performance

Here’s the thing about Aimé Leon Dore—they don’t do anything halfway. Founded in Queens, they’ve built their reputation on making classic American sportswear feel fresh again. Think Ralph Lauren meets Supreme, minus the hype beast nonsense.

They’re engineered for actual golf. Adam Scott wears them. You know, the guy with 14 PGA Tour wins who could probably make Crocs look stylish on the course… even when he wears 5 different shades of beige, he manages to pull it off.

Why This Actually Matters

Golf has an image problem. We all know it. For too long, the sport’s been stuck in a style rut.

But collaborations like this? They’re changing the game.

When streetwear brands start paying attention to golf, it means the sport is finally cool again. Or at least cooler than it was when cargo shorts were acceptable course attire.

These shoes represent something bigger—golf shedding its stuffy reputation one step at a time. They’re proof you can respect tradition while pushing boundaries.

The Bottom Line

The FootJoy x Aimé Leon Dore Premiere Series Field LX drops Friday, May 30 at 11 AM EST. You can snag them at ALD flagships or online at aimeleondore.com and footjoy.com.

Golf’s getting cooler. These shoes are just the latest proof.

Those look AWESOME! But FJ NEVER fit my foot, ever. Still have a nice pair of ADIPURES for special occasions.

I disagree with one statement in the article. Adam Scott does not pull off the 5 shades of beige!

I wonder what imprint these leave on the greens? Putting over all the diverse shoe marks is nauseating – I miss spikes. and in today’s woke golf world one can tamp them down.

G/Fore has had a Gallivanter “Tuxedo” style shoe for at least the last 2-3 years. There is nothing leading edge about these Footjoys. In Fact, the G/Fore are even more stylish, and they are $100 less. Game, Set, Match.

WYBob-what you said was the first thing I thought of… Even have a pair of the tuxedos. Though the FJ white blue and gold is a nice combo…

I would game these, but I misplaced the cumberbund for my golf tux and haven’t been able to find a replacement.

“Just” $350. I’ll stick with my tried and true true Hyperflex FJ’s.

These are fabulous. To me, this collaboration seems to be more about changing the perception of FootJoy which is getting left behind by new fashion forward alternatives. This is also about growing the game and breaking the mold of golf apparel. Connor…. Thank you for the 90’s basketball reference – the baggy shorts , Jordan & the Bulls vs the Detroit Bad Boys and lets not forget the Fab Five. Basketball was forever changed for the better. Here’s hoping golf will follow.

Nothing new about a “tuxedo stripe” on a golf shoe. G-Fore been doing it for years…in limited availabilities, because, well, they’re kinda ugly. As Connor mentions, it’s a bit of an homage to the Air Jordan 11. That look, (barely) lasted a year before it was retired. The “tuxedo stipe” is the look that no one asked for. Greyson has a golf pant/jogger with a tuxedo stripe down the side, and they always end up on the sale rack. Not sure who this shoe is for. The style says younger person, but the price does not. But, as it is a limited edition, maybe they are only looking to sell <100. The gold bottom is kinda neat but hardly mentioned. They should lose the black cumberbund, keep the gold sole, offer the shoe in black or white, and trim $100-$150 from the price. As is, I'll have to quote Randy Jackson…it's gonna be a no from me, dog.

In my opinion, FootJoy’s quality has been going down. I don’t know if there is a new point of manufacturing or if they just switched to lower-cost materials. (I only wear leather golf shoes)

The newer versions of their shoes that I have purchased squeak constantly, and the duration that they remain waterproof is nowhere near as long.
