You Can Buy Tiger Woods’ TaylorMade Wedges

Building on yesterday’s theme of you couldn’t get it, but now you can, TaylorMade has released MG4 RAW TW Grind wedges on TaylorMadeGolf.com.

In a nod to keeping it simple, the name tells you most of what you need to know.

It’s a TaylorMade MG4 wedge with a raw finish and a TW sole grind.

What differentiates the “Tour Exclusive” version of the wedge is that, unlike the retail model, these are built to Tiger’s exact specs. That includes a fully raw design (retail versions have raw faces with a chrome finish).

(Why golfers are often asked to pay more for an unfinished wedge is a discussion for another day. Guys, you literally saved the time and expense of the finishing step.)

I digress.

The signature feature of the TW grind is a high-bounce leading edge paired with relief in the heel into the trailing edge. The design maintains the forgiveness that comes from higher bounce on full shots, while still keeping the leading edge relatively close to the ground when laid open.

According to TaylorMade, “the MG4 RAW TW Grind wedge has a slightly larger footprint that gives players a sense of roundness and continuity throughout the clubhead profile.”

The MG4 RAW TW Grind wedge is available in 56 and 60 degrees. They’re outfitted with Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord grips.

Availability is limited to right-hand only. And while lefties won’t like that, it makes sense given that I’ve never seen Tiger play a left-handed wedge.

Retail price for the TaylorMade MG4 RAW TW wedge is $199.99. Available now.

But Eldrick barely plays any more and he’s not that good at it either LMAO so it’s not saying much that they have his name attached to them

I have a pair of MG4 wedges that performed amazingly when I bought them. After about 30 or 40 rounds, though, those micro grooves wore down to almost nothing, and chip shots don’t check like they used to. The pro at my club says you need to buy new wedges every 75 rounds, because the grooves just wear down – especially from bunker shots. Bummer, because I don’t feel like spending a few hundo on wedges every year :(

As regards wedges wearing out after 75 rounds I think the pro was having you on ,I’ve got a set of Ram accubar irons made from 18.8 steel these were a copy of Tom Watson irons when he won I think his firs r open I bought these in the 70s. with triple step reactive rhythm shafts x.stiff ,these shafts were also used in Lynx irons , the grooves on my irons are as good as the day I first bought them , fastidious cleaning during and after every round has kept them perfect , both my sons have used them and looked after them over the years .I now play and have done for the last 20 years titleist clubs and will never change the brand , urgently using t100 irons with a t100s 3 iron with apt white stiff shafts 1/2 inch longer than standard and 2 degrees flat tsi woods with diamana stiff shafts all bought on eBay as used the irons were 4 rounds old and the guy had to sell them as his job came out of lock down they are mint I put black widow grips in white on the irons ,white 2g tour wraps on the woods and midsized cord grips on my vokey wedges ,all coupled to a laguna select scotty putter ,again all bought from ebay ,so saying that you need to buy new wedges every year is just emptying your wallet ,and remember Bernhard Langer had an old rusty gap wedge I think it was for years in his bag ,remember that your driver, putter and wedges are the most used clubs in the bag SO LOOK AFTER THEM AND THEYLL LOOK AFTER YOUR GAME AND WALLET

No lefthanded love is really a shame, miss out on any special edition/colorway available for almost all clubs. Glad Cobra still makes limited edition colorways for lefties, although they didn’t this time around with the latest darkspeed LEs.
