I Still Remember My First Putt With A HeavyPutter™
I still remember when the HeavyPutter first came out…I was at the PGA Show down in Orlando and found myself mesmerized by one putter in particular. The putter I was admiring for such a long time was the first HeavyPutter the company had released. Now I have tried about every putter known to exist and for the most part they all feel pretty similar. Yes…I know they all feel a little different when it comes to sound and feel but nothing up to that point had felt as different as when I struck my first putt with a HeavyPutter. I literally drained every putt I attempted.
The technology seemed so simple and logical but until that time was untapped in the market. They really had a winner on their hands. But…they were not for everyone and not every type of green. They did kinda paint themselves into a little bit of a corner by niching out all the guys right off the bat that DO NOT like heavy putters…which is a large % of golfers actually. Although it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they should release a lighter putter…so they did. They have since come out with a Mid-Weight putter and they will also be releasing a Lite-Weight putter at the 2010 PGA Show.
And speaking of the 2010 PGA Show….
Which takes us to the reason for our post today…if this company ever wanted to get into a market other then building putters the next obvious choice would be the wedge market. Well just like we told you months ago on our Twitter account when we heard about their new trademark on the term HeavyWedge™ that this would most likely be their next venture in the golf equipment biz. And our prediction just came true…because they just announced the new product and it’s called…you guessed it…the HeavyWedge™.
Although the head is not much heavier then an average wedge head (about 4-5 grams heavier) they do incorporate the counterbalancing feature in the butt of the shaft with a 65 gram weight. Now I don’t putt with the HeavyPutter anymore…hard for a putter addict to stick with one for too long…but it still works as good as it did the day I picked it up at the PGA Show. So I am intrigued to try this one as well. I actually immediately contacted them…and I just got off the phone with the guys over at HeavyPutter and told them to send us a wedge ASAP if possible for us to try out for you guys. I think this is gonna be either a home-run or a double off the wall for HeavyPutter. Who knows it might not work as well as the putter but I still think the counterbalancing technology is a unique and one worth trying. It feels amazing for a lot of golfers and that is why the company is still around. This is not one of those gimmick technologies you see over-taking the golf equipment world…it actually works for a lot of people.
I only have one photo right now for you guys to see…pretty standard traditional shaped wedge…but still excited to try it.

I will give them a try. If it is anything like the putters they make the wedges will be money. I love my mid weight HeavyPutter. It has improved my putting. I was skeptical at first but a top 100 teaching professional recommended it. I am a believer.
