Mizuno Adds New Color Options to Three Models

Line extensions by way of new colorways have moved from industry trend to golfer expectation, so you had to know this was coming. For the tail end of the season, Mizuno has delivered with new finish options across three of its products: the JPX 925 Hot Metal irons, Mizuno Pro T-1, and Mizuno Pro T-3 wedges.

JPX 925 Hot Metal goes dark

Mizuno JPX 925 Hot Metal in Black Ion

Mizuno’s JPX 925 Hot Metal irons are now available in a Black Ion finish. Mizuno’s standard take on black is that the treatment reduces glare while maintaining the same Nickel Chromoly chassis and tungsten weighting that defines Hot Metal’s high launch and high-speed performance.

Said another way, it’s the same iron, just moodier.

Denim copper comes to the T-1

Mizuno T-1 Wedge in Denim Copper

For my money, the previous execution of Mizuno’s Denim Copper finish is one of the best executions of copper finishes in the game. Hell, it might have been my favorite. This time around, the copper color is more muted and relies on the light to really pop. If you’re like many golfers and absolutely love copper treatments, but want something a bit more subtle, the new Demin Copper might be perfect for you.

The Denim Copper T-1 maintains its Grain Flow Forged HD construction from 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel with copper underlay, delivering that buttery-soft feel that’s unmistakably Mizuno.

All six sole options (S, M, P, C, V, and X grind) are available in the Denim Copper finish, though if you’re in Europe, you’re out of luck—this one’s US-only.

T-3 gets the stealth treatment

Mizuno T-3 Wedge in Black Ion

The Mizuno Pro T-3 wedge joins the party with a Black Ion finish (see above) that offers a cleaner visual at setup, particularly when you’re squinting into bright sunlight wondering how you ended up in another bunker.

The shallow cavity back design and longer head shape remain unchanged, preserving the added forgiveness that distinguishes T-3. Three grind options (S, M, and C) are available.

The bottom line

Whether you prefer the classic refinement of Denim Copper or the stealthy edge of Black Ion, Mizuno’s latest offerings ensure your gear looks as good as it plays.

And if you still prefer the look of chrome, the stock offerings aren’t going away.

The JPX 925 Hot Metal in Black Ion and Mizuno Pro T-3 in Black Ion will be available in both Europe and the USA, while the Mizuno Pro T-1 in Denim Copper is exclusive to the US market (because nothing says global product strategy like regional exclusivity).

The JPX 925 HM Black will retail for $165 per club, while the T-1 and T-3 wedges will sell for $180. Retail availability begins September 18.

Did Mizuno improve the durability of the finish at all? I love my denim copper 56, but literally two swings from the bunker in practice is all it took to make it look like a 3yo wedge.

Dear Mizuno, it is criminal you do not offer the ion blue finish on your irons.

Or at least on all the wedges. I love the blue on my wedges.

Back to the Denim huh. Why did they not do it for the last version beats me. I loved the previous but went away from the Miz wedges because they didn’t have the Denim last time.
      So tedious.
Don’t think I’ll get these either. I’ve moved on. And these don’t look like the same shade as the last, I liked the darker tan of the last
